Cape Town, South Africa's most popular travel destination has rightfully earned its reputation as one of the world's most beautiful cities. Transfixed between Table Mountain and seven spectacular ocean beaches, it is a rare blend of cosmopolitan sophistication and African culture. Situated only 2 ½ hours from Cape Town Sanbona Wildlife Reserve offers 54 000 hectares of undulating mountains & plains, indigenous flora and fauna. Sanbona is home to white lions and big game as well as the rare riverine rabbit. The White Lion Project at Sanbona that aims to return white lions to the wild has been heralded a success. This makes Sanbona home to the only free-roaming white lions in the world. One of the true joys of Sanbona is the freedom to do nothing at all in absolute luxury. But for those who choose to venture beyond the comfort of the luxury lodge accommodation, a world of new experiences awaits....

Day 1 Cape Town

Cape Town is the second most populous city in South Africa, famous for its harbour as well as its natural setting in the Cape floral kingdom, including such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point. Popular day activities include; Robben Island (Nelson Mandela's prison), Cape Point, Stellenbosch winery tour, diamond buying shops, and great white shark diving.

Upon arrival you will recieve all of your neccessary documents for your trip which contains a detailed personalized itinerary, maps, restaurant suggestions, Top Tips for exploring each city or region and a 24 hour concierge service (for restaurant reservations, spa treatments, child minders, day tours etc).

A Dutch colonial allure shades the Welgelegen Guest House, a quaint but sleek city haven. Shielded by leafy canopies and placed in a quiet neighborhood of Cape Town, the hotel offers two Victorian houses with a total of 12 rooms. High quality bath products, dressing gowns and crisp white linen are just few of the pleasant features that make a stay at Welgelegen enjoyable. Meals may be taken in the dining room, or outdoors with Table Mountain as a backdrop. Also visit popular restaurants in the area, which are just in walking distance. Plan a daytrip and visit Cape Point, or the Kirstenbosch Gardens. Otherwise, simply wander around the city of Cape Town.

Day 2 Montagu

Montagu is a town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, about 180km from Cape Town in western Kannaland. It is named after former secretary of the Cape Colony, John Montagu, but was once known as Agter Cogman’s Kloof. It is situated at the confluence of the Keisie and Kingna rivers. It is also an agricultural centre, where orchards and vineyards are in production and local herbs are grown. Nearby rock formations make it one of the country's major rock climbing venues. Also you find some of the best wildlife viewing in the region at the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve.

You will be picked time in the morning to head towards the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve for your unique safari experience. The transfer time will be approximately 3 hours.

This afternoon you'll meet up with others at the lodge and embark on your afternoon game drive. Sunrise and sunset are when the animals are most active. You'll be out in the reserve for a few hours before returning back to the lodge to freshen up for dinner. A private vehicle can be booked at an additional cost dependent on availability.

Situated at the foot of the towering Warmwaterberg Mountains in the heart of the Little Karoo, Sanbona celebrates the spirit of the San people who once roamed this distinctive area. Only 3 hours from Cape Town, Sanbona boasts 54 000 hectares of undulating mountains and plains, indigenous flora and fauna, rock formations and rock art.
