Begin your tour in the charming capital of Pnomh Penh with a visit the Wat Phnom, the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, the National Museum and Wat Ounalom. Visit the "Khmer Rouge" prison Tuol Sleng and the Killing Field of Choeung Ek where you will witness Cambodia's horrible recent past. Continue on to Siem Reap by ferry and enjoy a private guided exploration of one of the world's wonders. The Angkor Wat temple complex was built in the early 12th century but was popularised in the West only in the mid-19th century on the publication of Henri Mouhot's travel notes, "One of these temples—a rival to that of Solomon, and erected by some ancient Michelangelo—might take an honourable place beside our most beautiful buildings. It is grander than anything left to us by Greece or Rome." You'll be amazed at the hundreds and hundreds of sculptures and the sheer scale of this epic ruined metropolis. Requiring several days and a car to see the miles of different temples and buildings, the sheer size is overwhelming. A superb adventure with private guides and the hassle free comfort of Kensington's 24/7 support. Enjoy as an extension to another tour or a stand-alone vacation.
