Day 1 Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh is the capital and largest city of Cambodia. It is also the capital of the Phnom Penh municipality. It is an economic, industrial, commercial, cultural, touristy and historical center. Once known as the "Pearl of Asia" in the 1920s, the city is a significant global and domestic tourist destination. Phnom Penh is known for its traditional Khmer and French influenced architecture.

Day 2 Phnom Penh

Start the day with a visit the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, two of the most striking buildings in the capital and considered as some of the finest examples of Khmer architecture. They were initially constructed in 1866 by the French. The Royal Palace is home to the current King Sihamoni. The neighbouring Silver Pagoda stands out in its own distinctive way. Also visit the impressive National Museum, and the tallest religious structure in the city, Wat Phnom. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Later, take a journey through Cambodia’s more turbulent past. Situated 17km from Phnom Penh town, Cheung Ek was made famous by the movie “The Killing Fields”. Nowadays, a large memorial has been built to commemorate the 17,000 victims who died here under the reign of Khmer Rouge leader, Pol Pot. You will also visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, a former highschool that was used as a prison between 1975 and 1979.

Day 3 Siem Reap

Siem Reap is famous for the magnificent temples at Angkor. This ancient and astounding temple complex is what remains of the capital of the once mighty Khmer civilization. Angkor Wat itself, built AD 879-1191 to honor the Hindu god Vishnu, is often hailed as one of the most extraordinary architectural creations ever built, with its intricate bas reliefs, strange acoustics and magnificent soaring towers.

Transfer by road to Siem Reap with private car and guide (approximately 5 hours).

Day 4 Siem Reap

Meet your private guide at your hotel and set off for a day of memorable Cambodian sightseeing. Visit the South Gate of Angkor Thom, the Bayon temple complex, as well as Takeo and Ta Prohm temples. The walled and moated city of Angkor Thom was the last capital of the Angkorian empire. It was built to protect against invaders in the 12th century. The Bayon is a state temple, erected in the center of the city. In the afternoon enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Continue with a visit to Angkor Wat temple complex and  watch the sun set on Phnom Bakheng. Travel from the South Gate of Angkor Thom to Bayon temple by elephant. Afterwards you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Day 5 Siem Reap

Lost in the jungle and almost forgotten by the local population, the little explored temple of Beng Mealea is waiting to be rediscovered by the adventurous travelers. Depart from Siem Reap by car to cover around 60 km in the Cambodian countryside, along the Kulen Mountains. Visit of the Beng Mealea and picnic lunch. On the way back, stop to visit Banteay Srei temple before continuing to Siem Reap.

Airport transfer with private vehicle, driver, and English speaking guide. Note: departure tax leaving Siem Reap is not included in the tour price (USD$25 per person).

  • Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
  • Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
