Day 1
Indian Creek Upon your arrival into Belize city, take a regional flight to Indian Creek's Rio Dorado Airstrip. The small plane 16 passenger turbo prop Cessna Caravan’s stops off in 3 locations before arriving at Indian Creek. Flight duration is approximately 1 hr. Upon arrival you will be met by our local representative who will help you locate your vehicle. Upon your arrival into Rio Dorado airstrip in Indian Creek, you will be transfered the short distance (two miles) to your lodge for this evening. On the third floor of the lodge is a private restaurant and bar. With expansive decks and a circular canopy walkway overlooks the jaguar habitat below, allowing plenty of areas to relax with the sounds of Parrot Falls creating a sublime jungle sanctuary. On the 4th floor, a spacious observation deck, complete with overstuffed hardwood lounge chairs, provides views of the surrounding jungle canopy and the Maya Mountains to the north. This rooftop perch is a popular spot to begin the day as the jungle comes to life, or end the day with a cocktail at sunset, as you recount the day’s adventures. Ballum Na, the private Boden Creek Ecological Preserve offers miles of nature trails to explore by foot, mountain bike, or electric safari cart. The Golden Stream watershed is home to one of the largest concentrations of jaguar in Central America. In addition, the 13,000-acre preserve is a haven for over 400 species of birds and other wildlife, including the Baird’s tapir, puma, wild pig, monkeys and much more. All meals are table d’hôte and include wake up tea and coffee service, a light breakfast at dawn, or whenever you choose to get up, a hearty brunch on return from the morning activity, afternoon tea and snacks before the early evening activity, with a five course dinner in the evening. Special meals and dietary requirements can be catered on request. Located in the heart of the Boden Creek Ecological Preserve, Ballum Na - House of Jaguar boutique lodge is situated within beautiful jungle habitat along side the idyllic Boden Creek. The four storey lodge rises like a grand tree-house above the jungle canopy and is also home to two male jaguars, Bosch and Xupi, who are brothers that were born in captivity as part of a captive breeding program. There are three suites, a grand Master Suite and two adjacent Junior Suites located next to the jaguar sanctuary. The Master Suite has a spacious bedroom, paneled in warm hardwoods, overlooking the main jaguar habitat, with sitting room suspended above the rushing stream. An elaborately tiled bathroom includes a large Jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower and dual vanities. The two Junior Suites look out over the Boden Creek and each feature private sitting areas, walk in shower, large comfortable king beds, plush linens and ceiling fans. Day 2
Indian Creek Journey into the foothills of the Maya Mountains in a Defender-Land Rover and spend a full day touring a remote archaeological site. Visit traditional Mayan villages along the way to Lubanntun (Place of Fallen Stones), a major trading center for the region and in ancient times producing large quantities of Cacao (chocolate). After lunch, tour the archaeological site before heading to Blue Creek for a cave tour and a cool afternoon swim in crystal clear azure blue waters. Overnight at Ballum Na - House of Jaguar. |

Day 3
Jungle camp In the early morning, hike or mountain bike within the pristine Boden Creek Ecological Preserve past freshwater lagoons teaming with bird life. Travel with your Mayan guide along Cutting Grass and Boden Creek Trails - an area of incredible lowland of tropical broadleaf forest teaming with wildlife. Enjoy lunch back at the Ballum Na lodge this afternoon. After lunch, visit the Mayan archaeological site of Nim Li Punit (Big Hat) a small but significant site with many carved monuments including the second largest in the Maya World. From the site, head to Fig Tree Landing where you and your Maya Guide begin the 3-hour canoe or kayak expedition deep into the southern Belizean jungle and down the pristine Golden Stream towards Jungle Camp. The main lodge at Jungle Camp has a spacious lounge, bar, and dining area with a tremendous traditional Mayan style thatched roof. A series of observation decks stretch over the river and into the surrounding forest. The entire lodge is constructed of huge timbers of tropical hardwoods, in tones of red, tan, and mahogany. The rustic yet elegant architecture merges harmoniously into the surrounding forest canopy. Dine in the fine ambiance of Jungle Camp's restaurant, lit by the flickering flame of hurricane lanterns. Black-tie bartenders and waiters create exotic tropical drinks and serve decadent, five-course banquets on fine bone China. After dinner, retreat to the lounge or climb the rosewood steps to the roof and the treetop roost. Indulge in after-dinner liquors, coffee, try house-made special cacao drinks, and enjoy the finest cigar selection in Belize. Giant glow-in-the-dark beetles streak through the night, cicadas sing and night monkeys call. In the morning, awake to the sounds of the jungle coming to life, as parrots screech overhead and hummingbirds buzz the riverbank below your veranda. Enjoy a fine breakfast of fresh tropical fruits, warm local breads and try a special Mayan Omelet, stuffed French-toast or authentic Indian Breakfast. Early tea and coffee wake up service and afternoon high tea also served. Jungle Camp lies at the heart of a 13,000-acre private nature preserve, surrounded on three sides by vast protected wilderness areas. Accessible only by river, this luxury lodge offers a true jungle experience. The camp is suspended several meters above the jungle floor and the safari-style bungalows and lodge are connected by thatched-covered walkways that meander along the river’s edge and through the lower canopy of the forest for half a kilometer. Each cabin has a private veranda cantilevered over the river’s edge, where you can relax and observe the riparian wildlife and surrounding jungle in complete comfort. Day 4
Jungle camp Take an early morning electric pontoon boat safari on the river, where many species of birds and mammals are up early feeding and moving about. Return to the lodge for late morning breakfast. Take a late afternoon nature-walk on Ceiba Loop Trail and a visit to a Tree Canopy Platform suspended in a giant Ceiba tree 80’ above the forest floor. Watch the sun set and parrots come to roost for the night. After dinner, take a 1-hour night walk into the jungle and across an oxbow in the river to Poncho’s Landing on Golden Stream. There an electric safari boat awaits you for a spotlight river trip back to Jungle Camp to watch for the many nocturnal mammals that call this exotic expanse of jungle home. Day 5
Port Honduras Marine Reserve Moho Cay is a tranquil, tiny white-sand, palm tree covered island within the spectacular Port Honduras Marine Reserve. In the early morning take a nature walk with your guide along the local trails, before returning for a mid morning breakfast. After breakfast, head down river by electric boat towards the coast watching for the many mammals and bird species on the way. Near the coast at Rosewood Landing you will transfer to a marine launch for the half-hour ride out to Moho Cay Lodge located within the Port Honduras Marine Reserve. From Moho Cay Lodge, enjoy half- and full-day snorkel, swim, and sea kayaking adventures within the marine reserve. Explore Payne's Creek National Park, Ycacos Lagoon, hundreds of local cays, pristine river estuaries, and the Seven Hills where a US civil war era sugar plantation lies buried in the jungle. Full-day expeditions to the Sapodilla Cays Marine Reserve, at the southern tip of the Great Belize Barrier Reef, include some of the best snorkeling in the world. Journey to the edge of the mangroves where the fresh water from the Maya Mountain rivers mixes with the sea creating the ideal environment to discover the area’s manatee and marine bird populations by sea kayak. Special fly-fishing charters are also available with great fishing within the marine reserve. Alternatively, take a book and a private stretch of beach, while the gentle Caribbean Sea laps at your feet! There is a main restaurant and bar at one end of the cay that stretches from the beach on one side to the beach on the other with a spectacular view of the open sea to the east and the Seven Hills and distant Maya Mountains to the west. Stay cool under the huge thatched roof sipping cool drinks or Caribbean beers and enjoy the refreshing trade wind breeze of the tropics. The resident chef prepares fresh-caught fish, lobster and conch from the nearby reef, as well as a variety of other succulent local and international dishes. Moho Cay Lodge is set on the idyllic palm treed island within the Port Honduras Marine Reserve. The Lodge consists of an exclusive collection of luxury safari-style tent lodges with thatched roofs, set atop permanent platforms along the water’s edge. Each unit has it own private stretch of beach surrounded on both sides by tropical island vegetation. The spacious tent lodges feature hardwood floors, wicker and hardwood furnishings, and tiled bathroom with walk-in shower. Day 6
Port Honduras Marine Reserve In the morning, head to the Snake Cay for some great swimming and snorkeling on patch coral reef. Enoy lunch back at the lodge today. This afternoon, explore the many cays and mangrove coastline where the elusive manatee can sometimes be spotted. Watch out for sights of Morlet’s crocodile and sea rays on the trip. Dine on your private veranda under the cloudless sky or in the restaurant. Overnight at Moho Cay Lodge. |

Day 7
Port Honduras Marine Reserve Enjoy a full day excursion to the southern most tip of the outer barrier reef and get in some of the best snorkeling in Belize. This morning, you'll get to snorkel off of Lime and Nicholas Cays. What better location for a barbeque than a pristine beach. Fully sated, you'll then get to partake in a tour of marine cay habitat before making your way back to the lodge with a stop at the Seal Cays for some more great snorkeling. Day 8
Belize City Depart this morning by marine launch for the 30-minute trip to Punta Gorda. Fly from Punta Gorda to Belize city today. The small plane stops off in 3 locations before arriving at Belize city. Flight duration is approximately 1 hr. Depart from International Airport. End of itinerary. Overnight at Depart (Int`l Airport). |

Trip Terms & Conditions
- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (50% of program price). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund less any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise, or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
