Itinerary

Day 1 Istanbul

Istanbul (Byzantium, and later Constantinople) is the world's 3rd largest city and Turkey's cultural and financial center. It is located on the Bosphorus Strait and encompasses the natural harbor known as the Golden Horn. It extends both on the European (Thrace) and on the Asian (Anatolia) side of the Bosphorus, and is therefore the only metropolis in the world which is situated on two continents. In its long history, Istanbul served as the capital city of the Roman Empire (330–395), the East Roman (Byzantine) Empire (395–1204 and 1261–1453), the Latin Empire (1204–1261), and the Ottoman Empire (1453–1922). The city was chosen as joint European Capital of Culture for 2010. The historic areas of Istanbul were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1985.

Enjoy a private airport transfer today with a car/driver and airport assistant.

Boasting a wonderful location, the Sultanhan Hotel (4*) is a warm guesthouse reflecting Turkish hospitality, authentic decor and oriental east culture. Day 4 Black Sea Cruise

Optional Private tour of Nesebar Ancient City and Sozopol.  Nesebar is an ancient town located in Burgas Province on the Bulgarian Black Sea Coast. Often referred to as the "Pearl of the Black Sea", it is one of the most prominent tourist destinations and seaports on the Black Sea, and its abundance of historic buildings prompted UNESCO to include Nesebar in its list of World Heritage Sites in 1983. Sozopol is one of the oldest towns on Bulgarian Thrace's Black Sea coast. The first settlement on the site dates back to the Bronze Age. Undersea explorations in the region of the port reveal relics of dwellings, ceramic pottery, stone and bone tools from that era. Many anchors from the second and first millennium BC have been discovered in the town's bay, a proof of active shipping since ancient times. Contact us for a quote.

Day 5 Black Sea Cruise

Excursion in the city and to Ancient Histria, also called the Romanian Pompei, along Lake Sinoe. Ancient Histria or Istros was a Greek colony on the Black Sea coast, established by Milesian settlers to trade with the native Getae. It became the first Greek town on the present day Romanian territory. Originally situated on a peninsula about 5km east of the modern Romanian commune of Istria, on the Dobruja coast, the ancient seashore has since been transformed into the western shore of Sinoe Lake, as the Danube's silt deposits formed a shoal which closed off the ancient coastline.
