Day 1
Rome Rome, the 'Eternal City', is the capital of Italy. The historical center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Make sure to explore the sites of the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. A few blocks away, Old Rome is the center of the medieval and Renaissance periods, with beautiful plazas, cathedrals, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Fountains of Trevi, Campo de' Fiori, Spanish Steps, and plenty of shopping and dining. Just across the river is the Vatican, the Papal City State and its endless treasure troves of sights, relics, and museums, as well as the surrounding Italian neighborhood, Vaticano. Via Veneto leads north into modern Rome to the train station and is lined with glitzy shops and hotels for every budget. Enjoy a private Airport (Fiumicino/Ciampino) transfer with a private vehicle and driver. Hotel Trevi (3*) is two steps away from its namesake the Trevi Fountain. It offers a refined atmosphere equipped with the best facilities within a historical 16th century palace. It is located in the proximity of the famous “Via Veneto”, and the magnificent Spanish Steps. Breakfast is served on a splendid, yet peaceful, rooftop garden where guests can enjoy the view of a typical urban skyline of the Eternal City. Comfort, tradition and efficiency is the principle for making each stay unforgettable. Under new Roman law, hotels charge a small amount per traveller per day as a “tourist tax”, which needs to be paid locally through your hotel in Rome. Amounts may vary, but currently the cost is 2EUR per person for 2* & 3* hotels and 3EUR for 4* & 5* hotels. The charges will be added to your bill upon check out and are non-negotiable. Day 2
Rome After you lunch, enjoy a shared three hour afternoon tour to discover Ancient Rome. On board an air conditioned coach and in the company of a professional Guide, you will cross Piazza della Repubblica with the Najadi’s Fountain, before continuing along Via Nazionale till Piazza Venezia, heart of the city with the Monument to Victor Emanuel II also called "Vittoriano". Continue by bus to the Colosseum and the surrounding Arches of Constantine and Tirus and have a walk into the Roman Forum, the most important archeological atea in the world, and possibly the Capitol Square. Proceed to Theatre Marcello to reach St. Paul’s outside the walls where you will no doubt enjoy the visit. This is where the Apostle of the people is buried. Day 3
Rome After breakfast, enjoy a shared tour of the Vatican city. Explore one of the world's most extensive art collections with an expert local guide on this fascinating tour of the Vatican. Your guide will share the stories and secrets contained within the Museums' walls, pleasures originally meant for the exclusive enjoyment of the Pope. Experience Michelangelo's famous Creation of Adam with your own eyes as you explore the Sistine Chapel and wander Raphael's Rooms. After taking in the Museums, be humbled by the imposing beauty of Saint Peter's Basilica, where you will encounter another of Michelangelo's masterpieces, La Pieta'. Mediterranean Cruise The Port of Genoa is an Italian seaport on the Mediterranean Sea. Genoa's bustling old streets running down to the port retain a gritty character all but lost in most modern cities. It's easy to wander around the back streets of the old town and not come across another tourist for hours. The streets are brimming with beautiful Renaissance architecture, ornate churches vying for attention with luxurious palaces housing some magnificent works of art, including many Old Masters. Many of these palaces line a single street, via Garibaldi, which was the home of the Genoese nobility in the 16th century and has preserved its graceful buildings in beautiful condition. Barcelona is legendary for its nightlife, but don't venture out for dinner before 11pm, the restaurants don't really get going till midnight, and the clubs start hopping from the wee hours till dawn. The city serves as the island's principal cultural centre and its unique collection of churches, palaces and museums attract visitors from around the world. Day 10
Mediterranean Cruise Messina is the third largest city on the island of Sicily, Italy and the capital of the province of Messina. The city, founded by Greek colonists in the 8th century BC, was almost entirely destroyed by an earthquake and associated tsunami on December 28, 1908, killing about 60,000 people and destroying most of the ancient architecture. The city was largely rebuilt in the following year, yet later incurred further damage from the massive Allied air bombardments of 1943. Later, the city gained a Gold Medal for Military Valour and one for Civil Valour in memory of the event and the subsequent effort of reconstruction. Overnight at MSC Splendida (7N) (ROM). |

- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, includes $400 non-refundable administration fee). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $400 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 46-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 45 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
