Day 2
Tirana Enjoy a full day tour of Albania's capital with your private vehicle and guide. You will meet your guide at your hotel who will lead you on a tour of Tirana. A relatively new city founded in 1614, it was founded by Sulejman Pasha of Mulleti. The city began to grow at the beginning of the 18th century, but it remained an unimportant town until it was proclaimed Albania’s capital in 1920. You will be driven to some of the most popular attractions. Take a walk through the area called the Blloku to have a look at some of the villas of the Politburo including the villa of the Dictator. Afterwards drive to the center where you will visit the Ethem Bey Mosque and Clock Tower, that have become the postcard symbols of Tirana. Visit the National Historic Museum with artifacts and testimony of Albanian history from prehistoric times to present day. Lunch is included in the tour cost. Day 4
Tirana Travel to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Berat along with your private guide on this full day tour. The city is more than 2400 years old and one of the most attractive towns in Albania. Established in the 3rd century B.C it was known as the fortified city of Antipatrea. The castle is the only one in Albania with houses and inhabitants within its walls, living in exactly the same place their predecessors did centuries ago. Visit the Fortress, Onufri Museum and several churches with beautiful frescoes. Onufri was an Albanian master painter of the 16th century who painted many churches in Albania and Greece. After lunch (included), on the way back you will visit a local winery. After the tour concludes you will be transferred back to Tirana. Overnight at Mondial Hotel (4*). |
