Itinerary
|
Day 1
Bordeaux Transfer using a local taxi (available and economical). A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map, train tickets (if relevant) and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip. Enjoy lunch at leisure (not included in tour price). Enjoy a two hour morning (shared) walking tour in the historical centre of Bordeaux (panoramic tour instead of walking tour on Wed & Sat) with a bilingual French-English speaking Guide. Enjoy lunch at leisure at any one of the numerous great restaurants in the centre before departing the city at 1.30pm for a 5 hour afternoon excursion to visit two vineyards in the area. Then enjoy a 3-course dinner (drinks not included) at the traditional “Restaurant ” BAUD & MILLET” or similar. Enjoy dinner (included in tour price). The Sainte Catherine (3*) Hotel has a fantastic location in the heart of the city and just off Sainte Catherine Street, which is said to be the longest pedestrian street in Europe. It is set in an attractive 18th century building with modern decor throughout. Adjacent to the Grand Theatre, many attractions and famous restaurants are nearby the hotel. The on-site bar and restaurant provide excellent meals and drinks, ensuring a comfortable and pleasant stay for guest who base themselves in the hotel as they explore Bordeaux and its surroundings. When hearing about Bordeaux, wine is undoubtedly the first thing that comes to mind. Famous the world over, it pleases even the most demanding connoisseur. The wine producers are situated outside the city thereby making a great day excursion.

Day 2
Bordeaux Enjoy a full day (8 hrs) including 3 wine tastings private guided excursion to the UNESCO heritage town of Saint Emilion with your own vehicle and English speaking Driver/Guide where you will visit of the underground monuments: the Monolithic Church, the Catacombs, The Trinity Chapel and the Hermitage, where, according to legend, Emilion spent 17 years. Enjoy time at leisure where you can choose from any number of great restaurants in town before a visit and wine-tasting of a number of wines from the St Emilion appellation.Some of the most famous wines from this area include Beauséjour Bécot, Villemaurine and Franc-Mayne. You will be brought back to your hotel at the end of the tour. Enjoy lunch at leisure (not included in tour price). Continue your full day tour. Enjoy dinner at leisure (not included in tour price). Overnight at Sainte Catherine (3*).

Day 3
Bordeaux Consider spending the day enjoying a private tour taking in pretty towns such as Margaux, Pauillac, St Estèphe, St Julien,Haut Médoc and Saint Emilion. Perhaps take a barge down the river. Or enjoy the day on a private tour to Arcachon where you could get to discover the largest pine forest in Europe, lush greenery spreading as far as the eyes can see, before proceeding to the Bay, a true inland sea, moving according to the tide. Have Oyster fishermen explain the long breeding process of an oyster before enjoying a sampling of local, fresh oysters washed down with a glass of white wine. Then continue to the impressive117 meter high dunes which you can climb to get an outstanding view. Trip Terms & Conditions
- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund less any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise, or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
