The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. "The Five Lands" comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, terraces have been carefully built on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible "modern" development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages and cars can not reach it from the outside. It is a very popular tourist destination.In 1998 the Italian Ministry for the Environment set up the Protected natural marine area Cinque Terre to protect the natural environment and to promote socio-economical development compatible with the natural landscape of the area. In 1999 the Parco Nazionale delle Cinque Terre was set up to conserve the ecological balance, protect the landscape, and safeguard the anthropological values of the location.

Day 1
Levanto Levanto is the gateway city to the well known Cinque Terre. It is in the Province of La Spezia in the Italian region Liguria, located about 60 km southeast of Genoa and about 20 km northwest of La Spezia. The town is on the coast at the end of a valley, thickly wooded with olive and pine trees. The ridges on either side of the valley thrust out into the sea as the headlands of Mesco and Levanto. Part of Levanto lies within the Cinque Terre National Park. The town itself is a famous surfing resort. Transfer using a local taxi (available and economical). Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel. Spend your time exploring the small village of Levanto by foot. Stop in at a local cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee or just to sit and watch the world go by. Located in a central area, few metres far from the sea and train station, in the charming gulf of Levanto, the pass of Cinque Terre, the Hotel Carla has provided its guests with comfortable facilities since 1960. The hotel is personally run by the Tuvos, hotel owners. Mrs Carla takes care of the hotel’s traditionally renowned cuisine and offers her guests a menu with a wide range of specialities. Each bedroom, recently refurbished, is equipped with private WC, direct dial phone an satellite colour TV-set. TV and reading room, bar, lift avaible. Guests can park in the hotel’s private street. Levanto Enjoy a pedestrian walk, nature observation points, botantical paths, and train transportation between all towns in Cinque Terra. The train stops in Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, Levanto & Monterosso al Mare. Your pass can be purchased on arrival for just 8 euro per person. Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel. Overnight at Hotel Carla (3*). |

Day 3
Levanto Levanto has a long sandy beach, an interesting old center, many delightful painted villas, a bustling Wednesday market, and good restaurants and shops. A new port is under construction and it is possible to rent motorboats, pedaloes, canoes, surf board. In fact Levanto is a very good surfing spot and during the season surfers come from all over Europe to surf here. Relax on the beach, perhaps book in hand, and soak up the warm rays of sunshine! Trip Terms & Conditions
- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
