Day 1
Paris Paris is confident that it's the world's most beautiful, fashionable and artistic capital. After visiting the city you will no doubt find it hard to disagree. Paris is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world, with over 30 million foreign visitors per year. Three of the most famous Parisian landmarks are the twelfth century cathedral Notre Dame de Paris on the Île de la Cité, the nineteenth century Eiffel Tower, and the Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe. The city's most prized museum is the Louvre, though there are dozens of other important ones. You will receive a welcome package with your vouchers, and itinerary, city map(s) and train tickets (where relevant) upon your hotel arrival. Enjoy a private airport transfer in Paris in a private vehicle with a professional driver. Part of the Leading Hotels of the World, The Fouquet's Barrière is a 21st century palace built around an interior garden and is located in the heart of the city at the intersection of the Avenue George V and the Champs Elysées. The hotel offers 107 luxurious rooms all equipped with satellite-TV with flat screen, ADSL and WI-FI internet access, multi-purpose printer (fax, scanner, copying machine) dressing room, bathroom with TV, shower and separate tub. The suites have been designed by Jacques Garcia with impecable taste. The hotel has 3 restaurants; le Diane offering a patio view and serving an international cuisine, le Fouquet's, the get-together for moviestars on the Champs Elysées and le Galerie Joy overlooking the patio serving light dishes. Day 2
Paris After being picked up at your hotel, enjoy exploring Paris with your private vehicle - a jaguar for groups of 2 and a luxury minnivan for a group size up to 7, and English speaking Driver. Your driver will be knowledgeable about Paris, but is not a certified Guide so cannot enter into the sites with you as a Guide - If you would like to have a Guide this can easily be arranged - please speak to your Sales Advisor. Your driver will however, be a great source of general information about Paris and drive you from site to site as you explore the city. Paris was created 2000 years ago and began at the Cite Island (Ile de la Cite). The driver is at your disposal for 3/12 hours but here is a suggestion on how to spend the time; Discover the Marais District and the Latin Quarter before heading to the Notre Dame Cathedral with your driver. Then discover Place de la Concorde, Avenue des Champs Elysees and the Arc de Triomphe amongst other main sites within the city. At the end of your tour you will be either dropped back to your hotel or left in a central place within the city, depending on your schedule. If you would like to have a certified Guide accompany you on this tour, please just ask your Sales Advisor and this can be arranged for you. Situated on the roof-terrace of the museum of Quai Branly, the brand new museum of arts and civilizations of Oceania, Asia, Africa and the Americas ,” les Ombres “ restaurant (the shadows) refers to the reflections of light from the Eiffel Tower, close by. The shadow of the Tower recurs frequently in the decor; pale-oak panelling and furnishings in shades of red, brown, coffee and burgundy. Consider arriving before dinner to explore the museum - it has late evening openinghours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Enjoy a delicious 3 course menu, including a glass of Champagne, mineral water and coffee. (Wine not included). You can easily arrange a cab from your hotel concierge. Day 3
Paris There are so many things to do and see in Paris it is hard to know where to start! Within the city you can choose from any number of private guided tours - of neighbourhoods or places of interest such as the Louvre or with a focus on architecture. Consider a few hours with a personal shopper, or a guided tour in a vintage car through one of the neighbourhoods. If you are interested in doing something further afield consider a day trip to Chatres, Giverny (known because of Monet's paintings), Versailles, Normandy or Burgundy. A fun way to spend an afternoon is by hot air balloon - this is possible to do in the Parisian countryside. Please ask your Sale Advisor if you are interested in any of these optional tours and activities. Enjoy the many wonders of Paris. Consider taking a stroll down one of the many quays by the river Seine, or wandering around any of the fascinating neighbourhoods such as Montematre, the Marais or the Left bank. Of course there are a plethora of museums and galleries to choose from if you are so inclined. Consider getting a 2 Day Paris Pass that includes a Paris Transport Travel card for 2 days (zone 1-3) to see all of the sites that are of personal interest to you. The Paris Pass is a smartcard offering free access to 65 attractions in Paris such as the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe, Orsay museum, Musee Rodin, commented cruise with Bateaux Parisiens and Pompidou museum. With this pass, you have access to 22 museums, 24 historical monuments, 15 art galleries, 3 tourist attractions, 1 cruise and special offers in shops and restaurants. Paris takes on a different hue at night and, with many of the magnificent buildings aglow which make it is possibly the best time to admire the beauty of the city. There are plenty of options to choose from for evening entertainment including an early evening wine tasting in a beautiful, airy Parisian loft of a French sommelier located close to the lively Marais district, a dinner cruise, a cabaret show, dinner in the Eiffel tower followed by a night-time cruise, or an evening tour of the city with many of the historical buildings aglow. Day 4
Monte Carlo Steeped in 700 years of Grimaldi royal history, the Riviera city of Monte-Carlo crackles with glamour. With its stunning location between French medieval villages and the Alps, it's easy to picture actress Grace Kelly getting caught up in her fairytale romance with Prince Rainer III. To experience the luxe life, visit the Monte-Carlo Casino and its elaborate gardens, take in a world-class opera or ballet, bask in the sun on Larvotto Beach or get tickets for May's Formula 1 Grand Prix. Take a private train station transfer with a private vehicle and English speaking driver. Enjoy the train ride from Paris to Nice (direct) on the fast speed TGV train. Train duration is approximately 6 hours. After being picked up at the train station, enjoy a private tour of Nice with your own English speaking Guide and vehicle. Your city tour of Nice begins with a visit to Castle Park overlooking the Bay of Angels and Old Town, site of the trading town founded by the Greeks 2700 years ago. Drive along the harbour and admire the Turin style buildings. Contemplate the Old in Place Garibaldi and the New along Promenade des Arts (Modern Art Museum, Sosno’s library, Acropolis congress center...). Arrive in Cimiez, winter home of Queen Victoria. Stop at the Roman Arenas of Cemenelum. Enjoy Matisse Museum – entrance not included – or walk among the olive trees’ garden and the 15th c. garden of the Franciscan Monastery. Visit the extraordinary Russian Cathedral, - entrance not included - the largest and most beautiful one outside Russia. Return by Promenade des Anglais passing its famous landmarks and “Belle Epoque” buildings. End the tour at Nice Heliport where you can take your helicopter. Enjoy a return helicopter transfer from Nice to Monaco heliport. In the heart of Monte Carlo, the Hotel de Paris (5*) is a real golden legend, the refined elegance of the building has been a part of history since its construction in 1864. The hotel provides great comfort with 180 rooms and suites. There are three on site restaurants; the Louis XV - Alain Ducasse, where the menu reflects Alain Ducasse’s gourmet journeys, a wide-ranging blend of Southern aromas and flavours, the côté Jardin where Chef Frank Laffon proposes a fresh Mediterranean buffet each day in the gardens of the Hôtel de Paris, with view of the sea, and The Grill, for lunch on a terrace, and the grill, dominating the Mediterranean sea. Day 5
Monte Carlo Consider any of the the following optional activities in the area - What better way to get around then by helicopter; enjoy a scenic flight followed by a gastronomic lunch in a hilltop village overlooking the Mediterranean, or for those adventurous types, consider a morning helicopter scenic flight, followed by quad biking and a wine tasting with lunch. Other options include an engaging cooking class, a wine tasting, and/or a visit of a candy factory, the “Confiserie Florian” where you can assist in the alchemy of transforming fruits and flowers into delicious sweets,candies and chocolate. Alternatively, let your creative juices flow as you make your own fragrance in the Molinard perfume factory in the picturesque hillside town of Grasse. Please ask your Kensington Travel Advisor for more details if you are interested in any of these possibilites. Enjoy a sightseeing helicopter flight with a lunch in one of the most famous places of the area - the "Domaine du Château Saint Martin" in Vence. Starting from the heliport in Monaco, you;ll be taken on a 15 minute helicopter flight over the mediterranean and into the hills to the picturesque village of Vence where you will get to enjoy a gastronomic lunch at the Domaine du Chateau Saint Martin. (Your tour includes a return flight by helicopter from Nice, waiting time on site, lunch. Beverages are not included). A private transfer from the heliport to your hotel is included. Enjoy time at the sumptuous 6,600 square metre "Les Thermes Marins" Spa, where there is a multitude of services and facilities to avail of including a large indoor pool with sea-water (29°C), Turkish bath, saunas, analytical indoor pool (34°C), a high tech equipment cardio-fitness room, bar, restaurant, hair salon, as well as many facial and body treatments. Day 6
Monte Carlo Enjoy a half day private tour with your private vehicle and driver as you discover Monte Carlo, Monaco, Eze and the stunning coastline. After being picked up at your hotel you will get to see the highlights of Monte Carlo: the famous casino, the Hotel de Paris, the gardens, the opera…Entrance inside the casino is possible and costs 10 euros per person which you can pay on site if you wish to enter. Please note: a passport is compulsory , and under 18 year olds are not allowed). Upon arrival into Monaco, you will get to enjoy a panoramic visit including the Prince's Palace , the cathedral sheltering Princess Grace Kelly’s grave, the oceanographic museum, and have time for a stroll around in the typical narrow streets. Admire the luxury villas and sea side resorts along the coast by Cap d”Ail before arriving at Eze, a wonderful hilltop medieval village. Walking along the cobblestoned alleyways will surely make you feel as though you are in a fairytale! Enjoy a visit at the perfume factory Fragonard in town before returning to Monte Carlo. Day 7
Monte Carlo Enjoy a private transfer with a professional driver and vehicle between your hotel and the heliport. Enjoy a shared direct flight from Monaco Heliport to Nice Heliport. Trip Terms & Conditions
- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
