This grand tour features the highlights of Slovak heritage, combined with beauties of the Slovak nature. Visit to the lively capitol is combined with stays in national parks. After your arrival to Bratislava your trip will start with a beautiful walking tour of the city. Bratislava is the political, cultural, and economic centre of Slovakia. It is home to several universities, museums, theatres, galleries and other important cultural and educational institutions. During the second day you will experience a small Carpathian Tour with a scenically beautiful stop at the Red Stone Castle. On the third day you will depart for the Tatra National Park.
The High Tatras, with their 11 peaks over 2500 m are together with the Southern Carpathians, the only mountain ranges with an alpine character in the whole 1200 km length of the Carpathian Mountains. The major part and all the highest peaks of the mountains are situated in Slovakia. Many rare and endemic animals and plant species are native to the High Tatras. Large predators, such as the bear, Eurasian lynx, marten, wolf and fox live there. Enjoy beautiful stops at Demanovska Cave, Orava and Spis Castle.

Day 1
Bratislava Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and also the country's largest city. It is located in south-western Slovakia on both banks of the Danube River and is the only world capital that borders two countries: Austria and Hungary. Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia. It is the seat of the Slovak president, the parliament, and the executive branch of the government. It is home to several universities, museums, theatres, galleries and other important economic, cultural, and educational institutions. Enjoy an airport transfer from Vienna to Bratislava with private vehicle and driver. The capital of Slovakia is known for well-preserved and compact Old Town. Afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the Bratislava historical town centre, with visit to the neo-Classical Primate’s Palace, where 1805 Pressburg Peace treaty was signed and famous English tapestries are displayed. Enjoy numerous Baroque palaces, lively outdoor cafes and the craft market on the Main Square. Includes the entrance fee to Primates Palace and St. Martins Cathedral. Day 2
Bratislava Morning visit to the Small Carpathian area, which has a meditative landscape with vineyards and small wine-growing towns. This will include an excursion to the famous Modra pottery workshop and the Renaissance castle Cerveny Kamen. A former family residence of the Palffy dynasty was the best fortified fortress in the Carpathians. After lunch at the typical countryside restaurant visit the Small Carpathian Museum with collection of historical wine casks. Optional visit to the evening performance at the Bratislava Opera. Includes entrance fees to Red Stone Castle, ceramics manufacture or Pezinok wine museum. Overnight at Arcadia (5*). |

Day 3
Jasna Jasna Low Tatras is an all-year mountain tourism resort, situated in hearth of Low Tatras Central Slovakia. In winter it is the largest ski area in Central Europe. History of resort started in 1950ties, when the first system of cableways from North of Chopok to South was built. It covers both sides of Mount Chopok - Chopok South and North. It is considered the best freeride resort in Central Europe. In the morning depart from Bratislava along the motorway to Trencin, which was the northernmost area of Slovakia, where the ancient Romans left its trace – an inscription on the castle cliff from 179 AD. Trencin is a beautiful town located beneath the majestic medieval castle. Afternoon visit in Cicmany, a wooden folk village hidden in the Strazovske Hills famous for its spectacularly decorated houses. Late afternoon arrive to the Demanovska Valley in the Low Tatra National Park and relax at the hotel or enjoy a romantic walk after the dinner. Mountain hotel in Demanovska Dolina is situated 6 km from the centre of Jasna and 6 km from Liptovsky Mikulas. Its architecture and indoor-outdoor design creates a harmony with surrounding nature and mountains. Day 4
Jasna In the morning enjoy a visit to the Demanovska Cave, one of the largest and most splendidly decorated caves in Europe, which is located near your hotel. Follow to the Orava Region, known for its majestic landscape and authentic folk culture. The highlight will be a visit to the fairytale Orava Castle, once a residence of the Thurzo Magnates. Afternoon return to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight at Tri Studnicky (4*). |

Day 5
Poprad Poprad is a city in northern Slovakia at the foot of the High Tatra Mountains famous for its picturesque historic centre and as a holiday resort. It is the biggest town of the Spiš region and the tenth largest city in Slovakia with a population of approximately 55,000. This day will bring you to the High Tatra National Park. Visit will include an excursion to the Strbske Pleso glacial lake reflecting the majestic panorama of High Tatra peaks. Continue via Stary Smokovec to Tatranska Lomnica. The highlight will be a funicular trip to the Skalnate Pleso Lake, from where you can enjoy the panorama view of the region. Afternoon arrival to the hotel, which is located in the AquaCity Spa. Poprad Visit to the Spis Region, considered being an art treasury of Slovakia. Explore the UNESCO listed medieval monuments under the majestic Spis Castle, one of the largest castle compounds in Europe. See Spisska Kapitula, a fortified residential town of the Spis bishop. Leisure time for lunch will be in medieval Levoca, where the world’s highest wooden Gothic altar is located at St. James Church. Overnight at Hotel Mountain View (4*). |

Day 7

Depart from the Tatras and enjoy a breathtaking ride through the Slovak Paradise National Park to Banska Bystrica, today the main city of Central Slovakia, which is well-known for its picturesque town square with splendidly restored patrician houses. Afternoon continue for the UNESCO listed town Banska Stiavnica, which for centuries used to be one of the most important mining towns in Europe. Romantically laid in the valley encircled by the forests, the town retained numerous monuments marking the former glory of its mining past. Late afternoon arrival to Bratislava. - Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
