Itinerary

Day 1 Copenhagen

Copenhagen is the largest city in Scandinavia and Denmark's capital and displays effortless grace and impeccable Nordic style. A bustling metropolis of 1.1 million, and one of Europe's most enjoyable cities, Copenhagen is situated on the island of Zealand facing the Oresund strait. With Sweden just minutes away by train, it is a link between mainland Europe and Scandinavia, and has a wealth of cultural and entertaining things to see and do. The city has a reputation for tolerance, the fascinating 'free city' of Christiania, a community of people who have tried to create an equal and just consensus-governed democracy for its people. There is more to here than Carlsberg and The Little Mermaid, and a trip to the wonderful Tivoli Gardens will leave the visitor in no doubt that this is a very special city.

Meet your driver for a private airport transfer with vehicle and English speaking assistant.

Copenhagen is one of the most historic and charming cities in the Baltic region and this tour gives you the opportunity to see it from two perspectives: by land and by water. Begin with a drive through the heart of Copenhagen. The Town Hall Square, which offers a lively combination of shopping, dining and people watching. Dominating the busy square is the Town Hall, an unusual combination of Italian Renaissance and Medieval Danish architecture, richly adorned with sculptures and paintings. Drive past the world-famous Tivoli Gardens, the New Carlsberg Glyptotek Museum (containing the largest collection of ancient art in Northern Europe). Stop for photos at Amalienborg Palace, the royal winter residence located on a spacious octagonal Palace Square comprising  of four separate but linked mansions. One is the residence of the Queen; the second is the residence of the heir to the throne; the third accommodates visiting royals and the fourth houses the administrative offices of the throne

Enjoy time at leisure to explore at your own pace, or relax at your hotel.

Hotel Alexandra (3*) is a beautiful hotel, full of tradition, situated right in the heart of Copenhagen by The Town Hall Square and The Tivoli Gardens. Day 2 Copenhagen

Discover the impressive castles around Copenhagen on a shared tour- departing Copenhagen, the coach travels up the riviera road to Hillerød. As you travel along there is a beautiful view upon the Øresund Strait with the Swedish coast beyond. In Hillerød you will experience the inside of the magnificent Frederiksborg Castle, where our visit includes the National History Museum´s royal art collection, the Chapel of Orders and the Knight´s Hall. From here the tour continues past the royal family´s summer residence Fredensborg Castle. After this the tour drives to Elsinore where we will make a photo stop for you to experience the outer walls and towers of impressive Kronborg Castle- setting of Shakespeare´s play Hamlet. The castle was build between 1574 and 1585 to protect Danish interests and to collect tolls from ships passing through the narrow strait. The tour is a great way of seeing the castles and countryside outside of Copenhagen.
