Day 1
Reykjavik Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland, and the world's most northern national capital. It is located in southwestern Iceland, on the southern shore of Faxaflói Bay. It is the heart of Iceland's economic and governmental activity. Today, Reykjavík is the only metropolitan area in Iceland. As it is only slightly south of the Arctic Circle, Reykjavik receives only four hours of daylight on the shortest day in winter. During the summer, the nights are almost as bright as the days. It has continued to see population growth in past years as well as growth in areas of commerce and industry. Relax on your airport transfer in Reykjavik with a private vehicle and driver. Please note that a surcharge may be post billed to you if you require a transfer after 8pm or before 7am. A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map and any other touristic information that you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip. Enjoy a half day tour visiting the most important sights of the City. You will see the old town centre, the Parliament, the Cathedral, the harbour, the Pearl and Höfði house, the summit site of 1986. During the tour you will drive past the city's salmon river (which is proof that Reykjavík is a pollution free capital) and the Árbæjarsafn outdoor folk museum, which offers an interesting contrast to the modern buildings of the most recent part of city, and an outdoor swimming pool in Laugardalur which is heated with water from natural hot springs under the city. Visit the Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture museum and Hallgrímskirkja Church (whose steeple is a Reykjavík landmark). The tour includes private driver-guide for the tour and entrance fee to the National Museum. The Bjork (3*) is a modern hotel perfectly located a few minutes' walk from Reykjavik city centre and the main shopping street. The main bus terminal Hlemmur is very close-by as is the Kringlan shopping mall. Hotel Björk offers 55 spacious and tastefully decorated rooms, all equipped with private facilities, hair dryer, telephone, satellite TV and radio. For something to eat why not pop into the Potturinn og Pannan restaurant for a delicious selection of traditional and international cuisine prepared using the freshest of local produce. Overnight at Bjork (3*). |

Day 3
Reykjavik Lush valleys and lava fields with soft moss, abundant birdlife, diverse flora, craters and salmon rivers characterize the West part of Iceland. Experience the full scenery of Snæfellsnes Peninsula and take a short cruise in the amazing Breidafjordur bay. Enter a world of thriving bird and marine life. A highlight of the boat tour is when a net is hauled in and everyone can taste the shellfish and sea-urchin roe. After reaching Stykkishólmur and enjoying the boat tour (approx 2,5 hours), we travel along the coast passing through charming fishing villages with a stop at Djupalonssandur and Arnarstapi before returning to Reykjavik.
The boat tour depends on weather and birdlife is limited during late summer months. Some walking is required on this excursion. Overnight at Bjork (3*). |

Your experienced mountain guides will teach you how to use the basic ice equipment before setting of on a safe and easy walk on crampons up on to the ice field where a wonderland of ice sculptures, ridges and deep crevasses await your discovery. Enjoy the 3.5 hr glacier walk and on the way back, stop at the picturesque waterfalls of Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Overnight at Bjork (3*). |
