Day 1
Belfast Belfast has undergone many changes over the years, from a mere village in the 17th century, to a thriving 20th-century metropolis of half a million people. Ringed by high hills, sea lough and river valleys, Northern Ireland's capital has endured a collective suffering during the years of the Troubles. Today, this city offers an irresistible blend of re-energised urbanity and easy access to natural splendour. Compact and easy to explore on foot, what Belfast might lack in world class attractions it makes up for in attitude. There is an international selection of restaurants, bars and cafés to explore and with the rugged natural splendour of coast, lake and moor just outside the city. After you are met by your Driver-Guide in Dublin airport, you will be brought for a full day of sightseeing on your way to Belfast. Newgrange is quite simply one of the great wonders of western ancient civilization that need to be seen close up to be fully appreciated. Dating from before the Pyramids it is a complex chamber that is perfectly aligned to catch the morning sun on the winter solstice. There are two other major tombs at Knowth and Dowth, both equally impressive and different in character. Nearby is the River Boyne where the famous Battle of the Boyne took place. The land here is lush and full of ancient and medieval ruins that are testaments to Irelands great heritage. Because you have the flexibility of your own private vehicle with driver-guide, you can spend as much or as little time at the various places of interest en route to Belfast.
This afternoon, you'll be driven through County Down which is arguably, Northern Irelands most scenic mountainous region that has been immortalized in the songs of Percy French and in ancient folklore. Downpatrick is an ancient town with The Fort of Patrick, a hill on which Down Cathedral is placed and reputed to be the final resting place of St Patrick, Ireland's patron Saint. A large granite boulder marks his tomb and this is a place of pilgrimage on Ireland's national holiday. Newcastle is famous for sweeping long beaches and a golf course. Nearby the famed Tollymore Forest park is green and enchanting. The picturesque village of Rostrevor has a history of ancient kings and buried giants and is a beautiful point in which to explore more of Carlingford Lough.
Upon arrival into Belfast, you'll have time to relax and unwind as you settle into your surroundings before thinking of dinner plans for this evening. Belfast has wonderful dining and entertainment options in the city centre. The two most celebrated chefs in the city are Michael Deane and Paul Rankin. Both chefs have a score of restaurants in the city centre called Deane's and Cayenne respectively. There is also Deane's Deli for a lighter more bistro style ambience. We highly recommend visiting the Crown Bar Saloon and marvelling the opulent Victorian Décor of Irelands most beautifully crafted bar. Day 2
Belfast You will have the services of a Driver-Guide with private vehicle for a full day today. Depending on your interests, your Driver-Guide will bring you to various sights within the city. Founded in 1889, the Royal County Down golf course offers an exhilarating challenge to even the most experienced golfers. The setting of this links course is continually remarked upon for its outstanding beauty. The Mountains of Mourne in all their glory rise up from the Irish Sea. The fact that this course has five shots and several partially obscured approach shots makes it all the more formidable challenge to play. This is in addition to its well positioned bunkers. The course is kept in excellent condition and the greens are fast and difficult to read making an exceptional test of your golfing skills. Professional golfers from all over the world rate Royal County Down as one of the finest golf courses on earth. (Chp. Length 7,181 yards / Par 71). Day 3
Belfast You will have the services of a Driver-Guide with private vehicle for a full day today. Depending on your interests, your Driver-Guide will bring you to various sights within the city. Enjoy a round of golf at Portstewart Golf Links - Strand Course. the challenging open links course boasts magnificent views of Donegal Hills, the rolling Atlantic, Strand Beach and the River Bann - especially from the 1st, 5th and 12th tees. Greens are fast and true. The 18th hole links course is of championship standard with more than 40 holes on offer. A golfing trip to Northern Ireland would not be complete without a round on the Strand course. The members here are very warm and welcoming and if you add this course to a round at both Royal Portrush and Royal County Down, you will have played three of the worlds finest links courses. (Chp. Length 6,779 yards / Par 72). Among Ireland's most unforgettable beauty spots is the Causeway Coast that stretches from Belfast to Derry along the North Eastern region the Island. Driving from Belfast, you'll soon enter the Nine Glens of Antrim as they drop majestically from the Antrim Plateau to the ocean below. Touring the northernmost coast will encompass the beautiful highlights of this unique coast that includes The Distillery at Bushmills, Dunluce Castle and Carrick A Rede Rope Bridge as it hangs precariously over the North Atlantic Ocean. A stop for food or a drink at the historic 16th century Bushmills Inn in Bushmills is also a highlight. The Giants Causeway is a UNESCO World Heritage site rated as one of the Natural Wonders of the World. Day 4
Donegal Donegal town sits at the mouth of the River Eske and Donegal Bay, which is overshadowed by the Bluestack Mountains. The centre of the town, known locally as the Diamond, is a hub for music, poetic and cultural gatherings in the area. There is evidence for settlements around the town dating back to prehistoric times including the remains of round forts and other earth works. Travel from Belfast to Donegal today, stopping off enroute at the Ballyliffin golf course for a round of spectacular golf. Situated close to Carndonagh and Malin Head on Donegal’s Inisowen Peninsula, Ireland's most northerly links comprises 365 acres of spectacular dune land and is practically surrounded by rolling hills and mountains with the only other boundary being the Atlantic Ocean. Officially opened on April 2nd 1947, Ballyliffin Old Links Course is a classically old fashioned links. Like most fairways here, the terrain twists and tumbles in every conceivable direction. The Old Course bristles with charm, character and curiosity. Harvey's Point Hotel (4*) is a wonderful retreat located on the banks of Lough Eske in Co. Donegal. Day 5

The outstanding Donegal links golf course offers a genuine challenge to the accomplished golfer and is an all round "true" test of golf. Being one of the longest golf courses in Ireland and Europe, it is ideally suited to big hitters of the ball. The reputation of Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh, designed by the legendary course architect Eddie Hackett, has been further enhanced by the new designs of Pat Ruddy. Continually featured in Golf Worlds Top 100 Courses in Ireland & Great Britain, this is a real challenge not to be missed. West of Donegal Town is one of the most magnificent and fascinating regions in Ireland. The major attractions are the picturesque towns and villages of Killibegs, Ardara where Nancy's is a great lunch or dinner stop. Beyond this are the most spectacular and highest sea cliffs in Europe at Slieve League, an awesome sight with the Atlantic crashing below. Glencollumcille is a monastic sight located on the coast road which provides a fitting end to an invigorating day touring. Day 6
Maynooth Maynooth town has, at either end of the main street, Maynooth Castle and Carton House: two former seats of the Dukes of Leinster. The castle was a stronghold of the 16th century historical figure Thomas FitzGerald, 10th Earl of Kildare better known as Silken Thomas. The castle was overrun in 1535, after the rebellion of the Earl.The village is just inside the western edge of The Pale, a term used to describe Dublin city and surrounds. Transfer from Donegal to Maynooth today in the company of your chauffeur driven vehicle. Sligo is an area of extreme beauty and varied landscapes with ancient sights dotted along its coast and mountains. South of the city is Carrowkeel, a five thousand year old megalithic cemetery which is hidden amongst the clambering hills. Ben Bulben is a beautiful Table Mountain where Ireland's greatest poet WB Yeats is laid to rest at Drumcliff where his gravestone with its enigmatic epitaph can be meditated upon. Also in the region are beautiful lakes, mystical Islands and pure waterfalls that inspired Yeats with romantic visions. Carton House is located in an area that is rich in the quality of golf that is offered, yet it still provides a challenge that is worthy of any of its illustrious neighbours. It offers a golfing resort containing two testing championship courses, one designed by Mark O'Meara and the other by Colin Montgomery. The O'Meara course offers a traditional parkland challenge while the Montgomery is more difficult, because of fearsome bunkering and exposure to the wind. Carton House is a luxury four star Hotel with leisure and spa facility located in Maynooth, County Kildare. The property is distinctive by its stylish décor, spectacular settings, impeccable service and the latest in modern conveniences and amenities. The hotel was used in the Stanley Kubrick movie Barry Lyndon which describes the lifestyle of the Irish aristocracy in the eighteenth century. - Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $250). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure. We accept payment via credit card, certified check, wire transfer or money order.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
