Explore Toronto and Niagara's wineries before you head to Churchill, known as the "Polar Bear Capital of the World". where aproximately 900 of these enormous bears congregate in the fall and wait for the Hudson Bay to freeze. You'll meet several of these animals up-close and on their turf on your Great Ice Bear adventure at the Dymond Lake Eco-Lodge and on your Tundra Buggy adventure. This Dymond Lake Eco-Lodge tour takes you to the very edge of the Boreal forest, where the Land of Little Sticks gives way to the great tundra plain. The Eco-Lodge is ideally located to take advantage of several ecosystems providing easy access to the Boreal Forest, Taiga (The Land of Little Sticks), and the Tundra. Of course, the Hudson Bay, home to the Great Ice Bears is just outside the front door. The remote fly-in destinations (the only ones on the Hudson Bay) ensure that your wildlife encounters take place in an exclusive pristine setting while enjoying all the creature comforts of home in a world-class true wilderness lodge. Day 1 Toronto

Toronto is a cosmopolitan city with a wonderful network of parks, recreational and cultural facilities. It is the largest city in Canada, with a population consisting of over 2.5 million people. Toronto is the home of seven professional sports teams and the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, behind New York and London. It is one of the world's most multicultural cities, home to more than 80 ethnic communities (half of people living in Toronto were born outside Canada). A dominant force in the business and economy of the nation, it is also the cultural centre of English-speaking Canada. Toronto is known as a city of neighborhoods. Districts are often centered one of the main streets (Queen, College, Bloor etc), and packed tightly together, with each having something different to offer each visitor. The relative compactness of these neighborhoods makes exploring on foot easy and pleasant, especially in the warmer months.

Enjoy a private transfer between the airport and your hotel in Toronto. Your driver will meet you at the arrivals gate with a sign with your name to greet you before accompanying you for the transfer.

Hilton Garden Inn (3*) is centrally located in Toronto's Garden District, within walking distance to the Toronto Eaton Centre, Dundas Square and a number of theatres including Elgin & Wintergarden Theatre, Cannon Theatre, and Lorraine Kimsa. Modern decor and luxurious amenities adorn each of their many unique guest rooms and their facilities will enhance the stay of their guests. The Great North American Grill is located on their second floor serving freshly prepared breakfast, 24 hour room service, and has an evening lounge with full beverage service. Popular restaurants in the area include The Keg Mansion, Hard Rock Cafe, Milestones and numerous independent restaurants available through their concierge desk. Work out in the complimentary fitness center, relax in the whirlpool or take a plunge in the pool.

Day 4 Churchill

Enjoy a short flight from Winnipeg to Churchill, where an expert staff member will meet you at the airport and provide you with an orientation to the tour.

You will then be transferred by fixed wing aircraft to the Dymond Lake Lodge. This exciting flight takes you out over the historic Churchill River, and then northwest up the rugged Hudson Bay coast to Canada's most exclusive Polar Bear viewing properties. Keep a sharp eye out en route for possible sitings of caribou, moose, seals, wolves and the Great Ice Bears. Upon your arrival, your hosts will provide a tour of the Lodge and get you settled into your room. A thorough orientation on travelling in polar bear country will be provided prior to any outings. This day includes a guided hike on the rugged and starkly beautiful coastline, an interpretive slide show featuring the wildlife of Hudson Bay, and hopefully a clear night for viewing the Aurora Borealis. Dymond Lake Lodge features a heated Aurora Dome for northern lights observation. All this will be topped off with a lunch and dinner where your hosts and guides will regale you with tales of life and adventures in Canada's Arctic. Boasting authentic wilderness lodge style, with all of the modern comforts one comes to rely on, the lodge is perfectly positioned in a high-traffic polar bear zone, meaning guests are sure to see the amazing bear in it's natural environment. The lodge's viewing tower offers a wonderfully safe environment for bear watching, while a guided trek on the nearby nature trails is also bound to prove successful.

Day 5 Churchill

In the coming days, your breakfast will be served at 8:00 a.m. with the first walking tour generally leaving at 9:30 a.m. Once you've fuelled up with one of the legendary full course breakfasts, you'll be eager to bundle up and head out into the snow. Should there be a polar bear in camp, the walking tour is delayed for picture taking but no one ever seems to mind!
The walks are comfortably paced as they are geared
towards plenty of viewing and photo opportunities. They are guided by professional and knowledgeable tour leaders so you'll do a lot of learning along the way as well. Obviously the guides cannot allow the bears to approach too closely, and they are experts in keeping bears at a safe distance without sacrificing exciting viewing.
