From New York you will depart for Washington D.C via Philadelphia stopping for some sightseeing. On arrival in the capital you will embark on a city tour visiting many historical locations before passing through the Amish country on your way to Roanoke. Day 1 Washington DC

Washington, D.C. (District of Columbia) is the capital of the United States of America. It is a planned city, designed specifically to house the federal government. Its history, beautiful architecture, and excellent cultural centers attract millions of visitors each year. Virtually all of D.C.'s tourists flock to the Mall, a two-mile long, beautiful stretch of parkland that comprises many of the city's monuments and museums, but other city neighbourhoods have their own charms. Dupont Circle and Adams Morgan have superb cafes and the best nightlife. Georgetown has upscale shopping and don't miss the National Cathedral and Zoo.

Roanoke is an independent city in the Mid-Atlantic U.S. state of Virginia and is the tenth-largest city in the Commonwealth. It is located in the Roanoke Valley of the Roanoke Region of Virginia. It is composed of the independent cities of Roanoke and Salem and the counties of Botetourt, Craig, Franklin and Roanoke. Some of the most popular Roanoke VA tourist attractions include National D-Day Memorial, Booker T Washington National Monument, Virginia Museum of Transportation, Peaks of Otter Winery and Radford University Art Museum.

Depart this morning for Williamsburg, Virginia’s colonial capital. Walk along the Duke of Gloucester Street to visit some of the impressive public buildings, colonial houses and the College of William and Mary (admissions may apply). Continue on by bus for an evening at leisure in Roanoke.

Cherokee is a town in Swain County. Cherokee is the headquarters for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Cherokee is a tourist-oriented area, located at the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park and at the southern end of the Blue Ridge Parkway. In addition to the casino, it is the site of attractions such as the following: Cherokee Botanical Garden and Nature Trail, Trail to Mount Guyot, Museum of the Cherokee Indian, Oconaluftee Indian Village, and  Oconaluftee (Great Smoky Mountains).

Known as Music City, Nashville is a music-lover's paradise. This is not all the city has to offer. There is also some great history here as well. Popular sites consist of the State Capitol, the Parthenon, Music Row, Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame. The popular Grand Ole Opry is great should you wish to take in a concert or a tour. There are also historic plantation homes such as the Belle Meade Plantation, known as a thoroughbred stud farm and nursery in the 19th century.

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery as you visit Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Explore the Mountain Farm and Museum to glimpse the life of an Appalachian farmer. Continue through Knoxville to Nashville, capital of Tennessee and home to country & western music.

Memphis is a city in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Tennessee, and the county seat of Shelby County. The city is located on the 4th Chickasaw Bluff, south of the confluence of the Wolf and Mississippi rivers.
One of the largest celebrations the city has is Memphis in May. The month-long series of events promotes Memphis' heritage and outreach of its people far beyond the city's borders. There are four main events, the Beale Street Music Festival, International Week, the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest, and the Sunset Symphony. New Orleans is the most celebrated city of the American South, and the largest city in Louisiana. The city has a reputation for historical roots, hot and muggy weather, great food, great music, and great times. Despite being hit hard by Hurricane Katrina in late 2005, New Orleans is still the tourist hot-spot it always has been. Jazz music still rules the city's streets and there's still a bit of Mardi Gras all year round. French Quarter is the oldest, most famous, and most visited section of the city. Many old-line restaurants are in the Quarter, along with music clubs, museums, antiques shops, and drinking establishments. Swamp tours to the bayous are also popular.

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle and the county seat of Escambia County, Florida. Attractions here include: annual festivals, events, historic tours, and landmarks. Travel through rural Florida to Ocala, known for thoroughbred horse ranches. Continue through central Florida, heart of America’s citrus industry, and on to Orlando for an evening arrival at your hotel. Relax and enjoy the evening as you wish.

Drive to the Kennedy Space Center, home of America’s space program (admission included).   • Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  • Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of deposit. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to 100% of program price.
