Experience Las Vegas and the Southwest’s most famous National Parks such as Grand Canyon, Zion & Bryce in a small group tour. Our expert local guides will show you to the famous sights as well as the hidden wonders. Trails lead us to highlights such as Angel’s Landing, Emerald Pools, and Bryce’s famous trails such as Fairyland, Queens Garden and Navajo Trail. There is time for unforgettable sunsets and sunrises. One of the true highlights of this journey must be an overnight trip to Toroweap, the Grand Canyon’s most remote and impressive viewpoint. 60 miles of desert dirt road lead us to a seldom visited part of the national park. We camp overlooking the Colorado River, more than 1000 m below us (full camp equipment provided). In the morning we hike to a hidden rock art panel, dated to be at least 1000 years old. This week-long journey features both comfort and adventure, famous parks and hidden sights, a perfect short getaway.

Day 3
Las Vegas Meet your tour director in the lobby of the hotel for the tour introduction meeting. You depart shortly thereafter to nearby Zion NP. En route you see the unusual desert ecology of the Mojave Desert, featuring creosote, barrel cactus and Joshua Trees. Then, ascend the impressive canyon of the Virgin River onto the Colorado Plateau and the red rock wonderland. Your hotel is located in the historic Mormon community of Springdale at the entrance to the national park. Zion NP is famous for its 800 m deep canyon carved by the Virgin River into a thick layer of dark red Navajo sandstone. Sheer walls of red rock rise from the valley. The Virgin River flows through this high desert area, creating a verdant riparian area that contrasts beautifully with the red rocks. A first hike takes us to the enchanting waterfalls of Emerald Pools, an oasis in the desert. Best Western Zion Park Inn (3*) is tucked in among the towering red rock cliffs of Zion National Park, Utah. This premier Zion National Park lodging choice offers spectacular scenery, along with excellent amenities and comfortable rooms. The Zion Park Inn is the largest facility in the area. Their comfortable guest rooms have been designed to echo the natural elegance of Zion National Park. Visitors enjoy natural furnishings, which complement the creature comforts and amenities you would expect in the heart of Zion National Park lodging. Convenient onsite amenities include a charming gift shop, a restaurant with patio deli, liquor store, and guest laundry facilities. Come begin to explore the American West at Zion Park Inn! Day 4
Zion National Park You will have all day to enjoy this amazing park. The most challenging hike of Zion must be Angel’s Landing. You start early to avoid the midday heat. Following historic hiking trails, you climb to the top of Walter’s Wiggles. From the saddle, you'll have an amazing view of the monolith that is Angel’s Landing. Those wanting can continue along a stone-carved path protected with chains. The remainder of the group can follow the trail to a fantastic viewpoint overlooking Zion Canyon. You continue your exploration of Zion Canyon with a hike to the beginning of the Narrows. Depending on water temperature, you'll have a chance to wade in the Narrows (a slot canyon, typically possible starting mid May). Those not wanting to hike, can enjoy the historic Mormon settlement of Springdale with its superb shopping and dining. Overnight at Best Western Zion Park Inn (3*), (B). |

Day 5
Bryce Canyon National Park Today, a short drive takes you to Bryce Canyon NP while passing through the dark red formations of Red Canyon. You'll have all day to enjoy this amazing park. Here you hike the remote Fairyland Loop Trail winding in and out of red, orange, and purple hued formations, carved by wind and erosion. At sunset you await an amazing spectacle of light as the rock formations seem to glow in the soft light. Those interested can also do an optional horseback ride through the formations. At night, choose between a buffet dinner or a cowboy dinner show (not included). Overnight at Bryce View Lodge (3*), (B). |

Day 6
Grand Canyon National Park This morning, check out sunrise at Bryce Point for amazing photos. The rising sun bathes the delicate formations in intense light making them shine in red, pink and purple. After returning to the hotel, join the group for another inspiring hike through Bryce Canyon, this time on the Queen’s Garden and Navajo Loop trails, including famous Wall Street. In early afternoon, you drive to the Grand Canyon. While 90% of all visitors visit the south rim, very few head for the north rim. Toroweap is almost unknown, as this viewpoint is accessed only by a 2 hour dirt road. However, the views here must be described as the most impressive of the entire Grand Canyon. Due to its remoteness this area receives almost no visitation; therefore you can enjoy almost total solitude and bliss. Camp will be set up near the famous view-point in a spacious, high desert campsite. Enjoy a campfire and hearty camp meal, and be sure not to miss an unforgettable sunset! Overnight at Wilderness Camp, Bryce Canyon (B,L,D). |

Day 7
Kanab If you enjoy photography, sunrise will reward you with unforgettable shots, so it is strongly recommended that you get up early for it! After a hearty breakfast you head out for your next hike: a remote and rarely used trail which leads to a most remarkable, 1000 year-old Native American rock art panel. Nearby you settle into a cozy historic lodge in the Mormon town of Kanab. Kanab was once a famous destination for Hollywood movie makers, and the lodge is full of memories from that time. Overnight at Parry Lodge (2 *+), (B). |
