Day 1
Pantanal The Pantanal is the world’s largest area of wetlands, a flat landscape, with gently sloping and meandering rivers. The region is situated in South America, mostly within the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. The Pantanal floods during the wet season, submerging over 80% of the area, and nurturing the world's richest collection of aquatic plants. It is thought to be the world’s most dense flora and fauna ecosystem. Transfer to the Pantanal lowlands. While crossing the area, it is possible to spot and appreciate the local flora and fauna. Enjoy a spectacular sunset trek through the surrounding area. After dinner, you will embark on a night tour to observe the nocturnal environment. From the lodge, with its enviably preserved surroundings, it is possible to experience first-class bird-watching, trekking in pristine forest, canoeing, horseback riding, truck photo-safaris, night tours and much more, all under the assistance of expert bilingual naturalist guides. Day 3
Pantanal Early morning horseback ride to the Ronco do Bugio reserve. After lunch, departure to Cuiabá. Time for some final pictures on your photo-safari
Transfer along the Transpantaneira Park Road until we arrive at the Jaguar Lodge. Enjoy the chance to spot wildlife on the way. Reception and check in at the Lodge. After dinner, we set off for a spotlighting trip looking for species of felines from the Pantanal such as Jaguar, Ocelot, Margay and other nocturnal species. The Jaguar Ecological Reserve Lodge offers a comfortable lodge in a remote yet accessible setting. Surrounded by some of the Pantanal’s finest wildlife habitat. The Lodge has 9 guest rooms, with a total of 18 single beds. Each room is fully furnished and has a private bath, mosquito nets, fan, and porch with hammocks. The lodge uses a generator and solar panels for electricity. Hot water is available daily. Guests enjoy family-style dining. Breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as afternoon tea. The lodge specializes in local dishes prepared from local ingredients. Fresh fruits and vegetables from the gardens, fish caught in nearby rivers and streams, and beef and poultry from the lodge ranch provide the basis for delicious meals. Day 4
Pantanal After an early breakfast you will depart from the banks of the Cuiabá River at Porto Jofre, where you will enjoy a variety of wildlife. Once on the river we’ll use outboard motor boats, to sail up and down the Cuiabá, Piquiri and São Lourenço rivers, and more to the south the Negrinho river looking for the legendary “King of the Rain Forest”. Lunch at Cuiabá river banks followed by short nap in hammocks. Later we keep on our exploring trip. We have included a total of 5 hours of enjoyment on this boat trip.
