Kensington Cares has been working to support a medical and surgery centre in the Trans Mara district near Kensington’s Mara West Camp. The facility has had a huge impact on the community, making it possible to easily perform emergency operations that weren’t possible before, saving many lives. Recently, Kensington donated an incubator for the clinic to help with premature births.
Although the clinic is lucky to have a very skilled doctor, many babies in the region were being born prematurely and were passing away on the long journey to the nearest hospital. Thanks to the warm, safe environment provided by the incubator, children are being given a better chance at survival. Currently, the incubator is in use by premature twin boys who would have been at high risk without it. This picture of the twins was sent to Kensington’s head office from the clinic.
