Five Days, Two 20 Hour Drives, An Eight Year Old & A Luxury Family Travel Connoisseur
When Kensington was contacted by Amie O'Shaughnessy about creating a personalized Morocco Tours family adventure taking her from mystifying Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains to the otherworldly sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, this was nothing out of the ordinary for us. The twist was that Amie needed us to do this normally lengthy trip in just 5 days and make the 20 hour drive into the desert as fun for an 8 year old boy as possible… oh and she was the editor of CiaoBambino.com THE connoisseurs of upscale family travel.
A travel aficionado and having been to Morocco before (kid free), Amie had done a lot of research herself beforehand. She knew what her family wanted to do, when they wanted to embark and where they wanted to go, plus she was a pleasure to work with. It was easy to tell why she was considered the authority on traveling with children as the interests of families was always her first concern. She inquired about the best kid friendly properties, how to break up the long drives with fun activities, if there were cultural encounter available and the quality of restaurants along the way. Amie really wanted to make it to the desert and back in a short period of time but wasn’t willing to sacrifice the happiness of her son by turning a once-in-a-lifetime adventure into a race. What she didn’t know was if it was possible?
“Pas de problème,” said Kensington’s experinced Morocco Destination Expert Aurelie Gilles, with a smile (she grew up in France).
