The Balika Foundation (‘Balika’ means a young girl child) is the personal initiative of Himmat Anand, Founder of the Tree of Life Resort & Spa. It was while building the Resort in 2007 that he came across some labourers from this village who could not afford to send their daughters to school. He then decided to take it onto himself to ensure that these young girls be financially supported by the Resort in completing their education through school and college. The Resort will be glad to arrange a visit for you to meet with the children at the school next door or ‘Teach a While’.
The Resort will be glad to arrange a visit for you to meet with the children at the school next door or then to ‘Teach a While’. Should you spend one hour in the school teaching the children a subject of your choice, the Resort will give you a credit of 2% per night on your accommodation amount and donate the same towards the Balika Foundation on your behalf.
The Balika Foundation also offers guests staying at the Tree of Life Resort & Spa, Jaipur the opportunity to involve themselves more intensively with the local school by assisting in renovating the school building during their stay with us. If you commit yourself to 3 hours of work over a period of 3 days stay with us, we will offer you a 30 minutes head, neck and shoulder massage / a romantic Aravali Bath / 15% discount on a dinner with our compliments – one for each of the three nights of your stay.
The reward for your noble and compassionate actions goes beyond just a luxury spa treatment – it supports a foundation dedicated to ensuring that young girls are able to complete their education through schooling. Luxury volontourism at its best!
