Continue to Mannerheim Street, the city’s main strip which contains the Parliament House, Finlandia Hall (designed by Alvar Aalto), and the National Museum. See Helsinki’s new Contemporary Art Museum, designed by American architecht Steven Holl, before passing the venue of the 1952 Summer Games. Your tour proceeds to the amazing Temppeliaukio Rock Church, blasted into solid rock. Drive to Hvittrask, situated on a hill overlooking a lake, this former home of famous Finnish Architects Eliel Saarinen, Armas Lindgren and Herman Gesellius is now a Finnish arts and crafts exhibition centre. Explore the grounds before being escorted through Saarinen’s home. Return transfer to your ship.
