Enjoy a 3 hour city tour of Reykjavik with private vehicle and driver, accompanied by a local English speaking guide. Start by visiting Laugardalur sport and recreational area with its open air geothermal swimming pool, Reykjavik’s spectacular coastline and harbor area, The Hofdi house - venue of THE landmark ―end of the cold war meeting in 1986 between President Reagan and General Secretary Gorbachev. Continue with the Pearl vantage point. Built in 1988 the Pearl is a remarkable building, unique in Iceland and probably the whole world. A glass dome constructed atop huge tanks in which natural hot water is stored for heating the city, The Pearl offers great views of the capital area and beyond. You will also see Reykjavik’s colorful old quarter with its quaint wooden houses and narrow streets and the city’s university area. A visit to the open-air museum of Arbaer where more than 20 buildings have been relocated from around Iceland represented in the form of a town square, a village and a farm. The museum gives the visitor an insight into the architecture and lifestyles of Iceland’s interesting past. Next stop will be at The National museum which displays objects that provide insight into Icelandic cultural history - displays that encourage visitors to dwell on the past, present and future. Reopened after extensive refurbishment, the museum houses new, dynamic exhibitions that fulfill all the modern standards required of such an establishment housing the nation´s treasures. Entrance fees to Fee Arbaer Museum and National Museum are included. Finally drive through the city center passing höfði House and ending at the pier.
