Krems (Krems an der Donau) is a town in Austria located at the confluence of the Krems and Danube Rivers. During the 11th and 12th centuries, Krems (then known as Chremis) was nearly as large as Vienna. Today, the town's gothic Piarist Church and medieval gate known as Steiner Tor are popular tourist sites.
