Your private guide and driver will meet you at the Antalya port and introduce you to some of southern Turkey's most important archaeological highlights. The first portion of your drive will be to visit the famous ancient Greco-Roman theatre in Aspendo. Seating up to 15,000 spectators and renowned for it's beauty and refined acoustic properties, this was certainly a great architectural accomplishment. You will continue to Perge, one of Anatolia's most imporant cities, a location of St. Paul's preaching, during his missionary journey. Here you will see the ruins of a well-preserved ancient stadium, an old 12,000 capacity theatre, and the ancient political and commerical centre of Perge, the Agora. Enjoy a lunch of Turkish cuisine at a local restaurant (included) before continuing your day with an exploration of Side, the largest sea port of ancient Pamphylia. Surrounded on all four sides by high walls, it was well protected from the treat of invaders. After a visit of Side, you will have the opportunity to shop in one of the region's largest carpet and jewelry handicraft centres, before returning to port.
