In the evening when things cool down a little, we suggest you to take a tour with local guide through Korcula’s network of narrow, cobbled streets dating to the 8th century. Not surprisingly, here at the edge of the Mediterranean, Greeks were the island’s earliest settlers. But it was the Venetians who left a lasting stamp in the old town—most prominently with their St. Mark’s Cathedral. As well, there is a small but interesting museum dedicated to Marco Polo.
