Throughout much of its history, Rhodes had a thriving Jewish Community. During World War II, Nazi Germany occupied the island and deported the Jewish population. Remnants of the Jewish community still survives on the island, however, and this tour focuses on those interesting sights. Departing the port with a private guide and driver, visit the Jewish Quarter, "La Juderia," with the Square of the Martyred Jews, as well as the "Kahal Shalom" Synagogue and the Rhodes Jewish Museum, which maintains a history of the community. You will also stop at the Jewish Cemetery in the new city - the best preserved in Europe. The tour will also cover several highlights of the Rhodes Old Town, New Town and Lindos (35 miles from Rhodes town). Return to port.
