The Port of Naples has several ferry, hydrofoil and SWATH catamarans services open to the general public, most of which are to places within the Neapolitan province such as Capri, Ischia and Sorrento, or the Salernitan province, such as Salerno, Positano and Amalfi. Naples sprawls along the shores of the Bay of Naples between the sparkling waters of the Mediterranean and the towering Versuvius volcano. It is a chaotic and colourful city, its grittiness, noise and old grandeur makes it nothing short of compelling. Home of the pizza, there is no shortage of good restaurants providing their take on the classic Margerita, as well as an abundance of seafood dishes and great desserts. The historical centre is a labyrinth of narrow streets and piazzas, divided in two by a long narrow cobbled street full of craftsman, cafes and shops.
The Port of Civitavecchia on the Tyrrhenian Sea, it is located 80 kilometers west-north-west of Rome, across the Mignone river. The harbor is formed by two moles and a breakwater, on which latter is a lighthouse. Civitavecchia means "ancient town", and it is today a major cruise and ferry port, the main starting point for sea connection from central Italy to Sardinia, Sicily, Tunis and Barcelona.
Livorno is a port city on the Tyrrhenian Sea on the western edge of Tuscany, Italy. Today, it reveals its history through the structure of its neighbourhoods, crossed by canals and surrounded by fortified town walls. The Venice district of Livorno retains much of its original town planning and architectural features such as the bridges and narrow lanes, the noblemen's houses and a dense network of canals.
Marseille is the second largest city in France, after Paris. Most of the attractions of Marseille (including shopping areas) are located in the 1st, 2nd, 6th and 7th arrondissements.
Palma de Mallorca is the major city and port on the island of Majorca and capital city of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in Spain. It is situated on the south coast of the island on the Bay of Palma. The city is dominated by its wonderful Gothic cathedral, La Seu, and most of the main sights are located within the area bounded by the old city walls, especially to the north and east of the cathedral. Both the cathedral La Seu and the Palau de l'Almudaina (Royal Palace) are on the harbor and worth a visit, as are the nearby ancient Moorish baths (Banys Arabs).
