Depart the Izmir port with your private driver and guide, heading to Sirince (pronounced 'she-RIN-jay'), a lovely little town located in the hills around 1,000 feet above sea level. The housing within the town was all built when it was primarily a Greek settlement. Surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and peach orchards, nearly all of the houses in town command spectacular views. Farming, wine making and olive oil production are the principal activities of this town, proud of its heritage. After exploring the town and the unique Orthodox Church, you will continue to the village of Kirazli Koy. A Turkish lunch (included) will be served in the courtyard of a villager’s house, offering friendly conversation despite language barriers, as you sit on the floor eating warm dishes and homemade bread. If you desire, you may head out into the orchards and help pick fruit off the trees with locals (seasonal). You will visit a Turkish handicraft village before concluding with a return to port.
