Corcovado & Rio Highlights (with Lunch) (6hrs)

Drive the city's main thoroughfare past the Sambodromo, where the legendary Carnival takes place with private vehicle and driver, accompanied by a guide. You'll pass through the Santa Barbara Tunneland the quaintCosme Velho, before reachingCorcovado Mountain-one, of Rio de Janeiro's most impressive landmarks. Atop this natural wonder is the famous statue of Christthe Redeemer, standing 125 feet high, made of concrete and soapstone. To gain a different perspective of Rio, board a tram for a 15-minute ride to the top of the "hunchback" mountain-Corcovado. From an elevation of 2,400 feet, the view of the city's beaches, buildings and bridges is simply unsurpassed Back in Rio's central area, you'll pass Flamengo Park, the Municipal Theater and the National Library. Rio's modern cathedralis your last stop, with a standing capacity for up to 20,000 people. Its architecture is of particular interest as there are no columns inside to support it. Lunch is provided midday at a local restaurant. Conclude the tour with a return to port.
