Situated in the wildlife-rich Eastern corner, the Conservancy Lewa Wilderness Camp has been entertaining guests in luxury for the past 30 years. The beautifully decorated cottages are on site and feature fireplaces and verandas. Guests can relax by the fire and share meals around a long banquet table in the open-air dining room. Natural springs, home-raised livestock, and a 5-acre organic garden are transformed by skilled chefs into healthy and delicious food. Wildlife on this private reserve is prolific including all the big cats & both types of Rhino together with the endangered Grevy's Zebra & Beisa Oryx.
This corner of the conservancy hosts nine comfortable thatched cottages with en suite bathrooms. Electric lighting is provided by a 240V generator that runs from 0630-1030 & 1800-2230. Each cottage allows the use of travel size hair dryers in cottages and guests are recommended to bring there own and management needs to be informed. All the furniture and the carpets are made on the property by local tradesmen and women. Batteries for video, phone and cameras can be charged in rooms – guests are recommended to bring their own adaptors. There is a mini-bar in each room.
The food is wholesome, ranch style and organically grown - full board, including soft drinks, beer, house wines and bottled water with meals.
This is truly an all inclusive safari experience. Aside from relaxing at the camp or by the pool, available activities include tennis, day and night game drives, bush walks with a professional tracker, horse rides, camel rides, game blinds, hiking/jogging with a Maasai warrior, visiting Lewa's ancient archaeological site, and visiting a Maasai cultural boma.
