Cottar’s Camp is an intimate family built camp located in a private reserve near the Masai Mara National Park, in Kenya. With eighty years of Safari service the Cottar family leads you by the hand in exploring this diverse landscape. The camp provides tents for up to 12 guests in a relaxing setting built with a 1920's antique charm. Dining consists of local bush cuisine, often taken beside the waterfalls or on game drives. The outdoor veranda offers a stunning view of the surroundings and the opportunity to take a bush bath and perhaps a massage on the doorstep of this backdrop is swoon-worthy.
Cottar's 1920s Safari Camp is situated in an extensive and exclusive concession between the Maasai Mara, Serengeti and Loliondo reserves. This area has been untouched by any kind of tourism or development and offers the discerning client a guarantee of privacy and an abundance of wildlife. The serene white canvassed camp recalls a bygone era when safaris were unrushed, elegant and oozed romance. The camp accommodates guests with tents that are spacious and luxuriously furnished. They incorporate original safari antiques from the '20s, private ensuite dressing and bathrooms, main bedrooms and verandas.
The camp has 6 1920s style white ensuite tents – 5 doubles and 1 twin tent. The authentic white canvas tents, are spacious and luxuriously furnished and incorporate original safari antiques from the 20's. Also the private en suite dressing rooms and bathrooms come with old fashioned showers and flushing toilets, there is a main bedroom and an outdoor veranda. Each tent has a canopied verandah and is situated to ensure privacy.
4 Family Tented Suites - each suite consists of 2 ensuite bedrooms with a shared sitting / dining room. The family tents also have living rooms with fireplaces.

The cuisine and silver service are of the highest to be found in the bush. Take advantage of the bush breakfasts and bush lunches so that you can stay out on game drives longer. Take one of those Bush meals by the waterfall and watch the baboons playing nearby.
As there concession is outside the game parks, therefore guided walks and night drives are allowed and highly recommended. By walking, guests can get that much closer to nature, and if an opportunity to track wild game presents itself, there trained trackers will take guests even closer. On a more self indulgent note, there masseuse will now be based full-time at the camp for complimentary massages, manicures and pedicures. Any other needs that guests may have will be met by butlers who have been trained to provide guests with discreet, yet attentive service. Activities also include game drives in 4-wheel drive vehicles, night game drives, guided bush walks, river swimming, river fishing and swimming pool.
