Located in a forest in the heart of the Masai Mara, Little Governor's Camp is intimate in character. The luxury en-suite tents are tucked around a large watering hole that that teems with life with birds and wildlife. Beyond lie the grasslands of the Masai Mara and the deep blue Olololo Ridge Escarpment. Arriving in Camp is an adventure, leaving your vehicle behind you and cross the Mara River by boat and you are escorted on foot through the forest to the camp.
Little Governor's Camp is intimate in character, with just 17 luxury en-suite tents tucked around a large watering hole that teems with both birds and wildlife. The camp is approached by a boat ride across the Mara River, then an escorted walk through the riverine forest. Vehicles are left on the far river bank, and the camp is therefore quiet and undisturbed.The guest tents at Little Governor's have recently been renovated and now have great wooden decks with large verandahs for guests to enjoy the constant game activity that takes place around the watering hole at the camp. All Governors’ properties are unfenced and at Little Governor's there is a resident family of warthogs that wander freely through the camp. Guests may need to make way for elephants which sometimes visit the camp at lunch time.
The guest tents at Little Governors’ have recently been renovated. Each one is spacious with an en-suite bathroom, and now they have polished wooden decks with large verandas to enable guests to relax and enjoy the panorama of animals visiting the watering hole in front.Breakfast and lunch are served in the open air, and the resident family of warthogs frequently wander amongst the tables. Since all Governor's properties are unfenced and in the heart of the Reserve, elephants may also stroll past. In the evening a warming log fire burns in front of the Bar Tent, and dinner is served in the nearby Dining Tent.
There's an open bar and dining tent with view over the waterhole, the open plains of the Masai Mara and the Oloololo Escarpment. Bush breakfast, lunch & dinner can be organised on request at a supplementary cost.
Activities include game Vviewing in there custom built 4wd vehicles, walking safaris, cultural visits, support of our local schools, Lake Victoria day Trips, hot air balloon safaris, Great Wildebeest Migration, spa, specialist guiding: ornithology, photography, meals & sundowners in the bush, relaxation in camp.
