The Governor’s Loldia House is set on the shores of Lake Naivasha, a sleek luxurious retreat shielded by Acacia trees. With a colonial influence in design, the stone house and cottages house 9 rooms in total, each with en suite bathrooms and English-style furnishings. Meals of aromatic fresh seafood are served under a fig tree outdoors, in old British style. Time may be spent getting familiar with the farm or taking boat rides and bird watching on Lake Naivasha.
Loldia House you’ll experience the life of Kenya’s early settlers. It is an ideal spot to relax, taste the pleasures of Kenyan country life and explore the Great Rift Valley. There are beautiful views of the dormant volcano, Mount Longonot. Wild animals roam free on the farm and in the evenings hippo munch quietly by the waterside. Loldia House is only a two hour drive from Nairobi and within easy reach of Nairobi’s International Airport. It is a perfect place from which to begin your exciting safari holiday around Kenya. It is also conveniently located for day trips to the famous Lake Nakuru National Park. There are now also daily flights on Safari Link Aviation direct from Loldia House to the Masai Mara.
Loldia House offers a choice of accommodation either in the old family house or in cottages in the grounds. In the main house, four en-suite double rooms are furnished in the original colonial style. Close by is an original guest cottage surrounded by lush flowers, with a further two en-suite rooms. A newly-built cottage on the lakeshore, which is ideal for honeymooners, has two independent en-suite double rooms with breathtaking views across the lake to the extinct volcano, Mount Longonot. Up on the hill is the specially built Loldia cottage, which has its own sitting room with open log fire and panoramic views across the lake, and three double rooms, making it ideal for families or groups of friends.
The dining room is decorated in colonial style. Breakfast and lunch are served under a spreading fig tree in the garden. Room service is available on request. Tea and coffee is served in the rooms with the morning wake up call. Loldia House offers the highest standards of cuisine and personalised service.
Loldia House is situated on a private farm of some 6,500 acres on the shores of Lake Naivasha, in the Great Rift Valley. Here guests are free to explore the farm with one of our guides, to enjoy the interaction of farming activities and the wild animals which live alongside, and to explore the lakes and mountains of the Great Rift Valley. Loldia House excursions include a day trip to Lake Nakuru, game and bird viewing by boat on Lake Naivasha, nature walks on Loldia Farm, walking Mt Longonot, Hells Gate National Park and Crater Lake, visit an adjacent flower farm, golf at nearby Green Park, visit the remarkable Loldia School, relax and enjoy the breathtaking views over Lake Naivasha, sundowners, and night game drives.
