Overview
Tsarabanjina is one of the islets of the exquisite Mitsio Archipelago in the north western part of Madagascar. About 40 miles from the island of Nosy Be, it is bathed in sunshine all year round, perfect for those seeking privacy, luxury and stunning views. Fringed by white sandy beaches with extraordinary birds, lush vegetation and encircled with stunning, wildlife-rich coral reefs, this stunning islet is also sacred. Home to the tomb of the Sakalava kings of the Mitsio islands, the island people still venerate the tomb on the eastern beach peninsula by bringing offerings of money, honey and rum. Facing the islet on the north-west side, are the mythical rocks Les Quatre Frères (The Four Brothers). A great number of birds build their nests on these islets, including northern gannets, white tailed tropic birds and frigates. These rocks are also perfect for scuba diving.
