Riad Kalaa

The Riad Kalaa is a renovated Kasbah which originally dates back to the Almoravide dynasty. This ancient structure was built in 1815, in the heart of the ramparts of the medina only a few steps away from the ocean. This Kasbah converted into a hotel  and has undergone a thorough and lengthy restoration, using artisan workmanship traditional to Morocco. The Riad Kalaa features 11 rooms and suites designed to with tradition and convenience in mind with each room equipped with the modern amenities such as climate control, wireless internet access and more.  The talented culinary team at the Riad Kalaa provides guests with a plethora of dishes to enjoy including an extensive menu of Moroccan specialities.  The Riad Kalaa also features tree-lined terraces on the upper floors with a solarium and emerald swimming pool.  A traditional hammam and spa are made available as well and offer relaxing massage treatments and old fashion shaves. The architecture of the Riad Kalaa is quite unique, and features an elegant assortment of terraces, alcoves and salons, ensuring intimacy and harmonious ambiance for all the guests

In each of the charming and comfortable room aptly named Jasmine, Amber, Musk and Sandalwood are located on the terrace by the pool, and feature sophisticated Middle Eastern and Oriental décor. The cosy fireplace accents the traditional colour tones and tadelakt plaster creating an authentically refined atmosphere. Other in-room amenities include en-suite bathing facilities, in-room safety box, and wireless internet access.

The Saharan suites, specifically named Berber, Nomad and Touareg are located on the ground floor and are very spacious. These suites feature large bedrooms and elegant bathrooms styled with warm tones, and sandy colours. Each of the Oriental Suites; Courtesan, La Favorite and La Sultana open onto the patio where white bougainvillea, palms and coconuts ferns surrounding the central fountain creating a moment of serene delight each and every the patio door opens. Spacious and functional, these duel floored suites feature a comfortable living room area with TV and mini-bar, and are furnished with benches carved of cedar. The lovely and elegant lofted bedroom overlooks the living space and bathroom area. The combination of natural materials, traditional tadelakt-cedar-tuya-colored tiles and bejmat creates a refined and relaxing atmosphere suitable for guests of all ages.
