Namibia is known for its contrasting landscapes. Sossusvlei, Namibia's famous highlight in the heart of the Namib Desert , is a huge clay pan, enclosed by giant sand dunes. Some of the spectacular hills of sand are, at a height of 300 metres, the highest in the world. The best time to view Sossusvlei is close to sunrise and sunset; the colours are strong and constantly changing, allowing for wonderful photographic opportunities. You can also enjoy exhilarating game drives & wilderness walks exploring the grass plains and red sand dune belts of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. Sossussvlei also boast of magnificent desert skies idea for stargazing. Damaraland where you'll have the opportunity to track the game and also enjoy some of the most scenic areas of the country. Spending time with the Ovahimba people is an incredible experience. Etosha National Park is where you'll search for the Big 5, your guide will take you to all of the great waterholes. You'll end your trip back in Windhoek where you'll catch your flight home or on to Victoria Falls or maybe Cape Town.

Day 1: Windhoek
Airport transfer with private vehicle, driver, and English-speaking guide.
Accommodation: Villa Violet (4*) Villa Violet (4*) is tucked away in the heart of Windhoek. All rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, TV, WiFi and a safe. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast each morning in the breakfast room. The garden around the pool, the deck or the lounge are there to make you feel comfortable.

Moon Mountain Lodge
Day 2: Windhoek - Sossusvlei
This morning you will meet your guide and depart from Windhoek and drive to Sossusvlei, This drive will take approximately five hours.
This afternoon you'll meet up with others from the lodge and enjoy a nature drive and have sundowners and witness the spectacular beauty of this region.
Accommodation: Moon Mountain Lodge Moon Mountain Lodge is a tented lodge ideally located in the Naukluft Mountains. Enjoy sheer luxury with exquisite views from your bed or private splash pool. The lodge’s Nebula Restaurant offers seating for 46 people and traditional Namibian Cuisine.

Day 3: Sossusvlei
Early morning visit to Sossusvlei, (a clay pan surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the world), which is surrounded by the possibly highest dunes in the world and is filled only with water in years when exceptionally good rainfall is received. After spending time in the dunes we'll visit the Sesriem Canyon. It is said that the canyon got its name during the time of the ox wagon, when a person had to use six harness straps to haul water from the bottom of the canyon. Please note that if you're not using a 4X4 throughout the trip you will take a 4X4 shuttle into the dunes.
While at Moon Mountain there are a lot of activties to choose from. Activities available in the area include serene hot air balloon flights, scenic flights with airplane or helicopters, dune drives, sun-downer drives, game drives, mountain trails and a lot of photo opportunities. These can either be booked and paid for direct at the lodge or arranged prior to your departure with your trip specialist.

Swakopmund
Central Guesthouse
Day 4: Sossusvlei - Swakopmund
The route takes us north via the Kuiseb Canyon to Swakopmund. Highlights en route include a drive to the “Moon Landscape” and the ancient desert plant, “Welwitschia mirabilis”. This quaint desert town with its old-world charm and relaxed atmosphere hedged by desert and sea, is enhanced by lush green lawns and palm trees.

Day 5: Swakopmund
Cruise departs Walvis Bay Yacht club at 09h00 and takes you through the harbour to Bird Island, you then cut across the lagoon to the moored Russian trawlers where inquisitive seals will swim up to the boats looking for something to eat. From there we head to Pelican Point where entertainment is provided by a large seal colony and pods of Heavyside and Bottlenose Dolphins swimming alongside the boats. For bird lovers, apart from seeing flamingoes, cormorants and pelicans, there are common sightings of the White Chinned Petrel, Wilson’s Storm Petrel, Black Oystercatcher and even the Jackass Penguin. To round off the trip you will be spoilt with fresh Walvis Bay oysters, snacks and cold sparkling wine served on board the boat. Please note that transfers are private but you may be joined by other guests on the boat.

Day 6: Swakopmund - Etosha
This morning you will meet your guide and depart from Swakopmund and drive to Etosha. This drive will take approximately 8 hours but is on tarred roads. It takes you via Karibib, Omaruru and Outjo.
Accommodation: Okaukuejo (3*) Okaukuejo (3*) is located 17 km from the southern entrance of the park, and famous for its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters as spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting. The main attraction of this camp is that it overlooks a permanent waterhole, which is floodlit at night. Here a wide diversity of wildlife congregates and interacts. The spectacle starts at dawn, with animals coming in large numbers to quench their thirst. The excitement continues throughout the day and deep into the night. In the early evenings, it is not uncommon to have black rhinoceros, elephant and lion, all drinking at the same time.

Day 7: Etosha
Today you'll spend the day searching for the Big 5 in Etosha National Park.

This morning you will meet your guide and depart from Etosha Park - Von Lindequist Gate and drive to Windhoek. This drive will take approximately six hours.

VISA/PASSPORT
A passport and visa are normally required. Bearers of U.S. or Canadian passports who plan to visit Namibia for tourism for less than 90 days can obtain visas at the port of entry and do not need visas prior to entering the country. All travelers traveling to or from Namibia via South Africa are strongly encouraged to have several unstamped visa pages left in their passports. South Africa requires two unstamped visa pages.
Please note obtaining a visa is your responsibility. These requirements change often and therefore it is best that you check with the embassy of Namibia for the most up to date visa information.
HEALTH
Health insurance is essential. Medical facilities are poor quality. We recommend that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine. The doctor or health-care provider will determine what vaccinations and medication you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities. Government: Republic. Gained independence from South Africa in 1990.
Language: English is the official language but is the first language of only 7% of the population. Afrikaans, the lingua franca, is the first language of most of the white population. German, Herero, Kavango, Nama and Ovambo are also spoken.
Religion: Christian (80 to 90%) and indigenous beliefs (10 to 20%).

- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $350). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
