Between the Ugab and the huab River in southern Damaraland lies a vast, beautiful unspoilt wilderness and unsurpassed desert scenery, unusual geological formations, archaelogical sites and a unique variety of fauna & flora lies Mowani Mountain Camp - meaning “Place of God”.
Nestling among rugged boulders at a high elevation, affording panoramic views over the pristine surroundings, the camp creates the impression of an African village. Great care has been taken with the design of the recreational areas. A pool with deck is lodged between boulders, while the Boma of Mowani marks a special area for sundowners and campfire discussions. Sustainable eco-tourism and community upliftment is of the utmost importance at Mowani.
The luxury-tents are elegantly decorated with furnishings especially designed for convenience and comfort. Nestled between the ancient granite boulders and paths connecting it all together are 12 thatch en-suite rooms... each accommodating a story of their own. Suites provide the ultimate retreat with uninterrupted views. Whether relaxing in bed, enjoying dinner on the private deck or throwing caution to the wind in the open-air bathroom! An additional indoor bathroom and luxuriously furbished African flavoured lounge, further complimented the accommodations - made for a king... in hiding!
