The site designs offers guests 2 unique experiences, that of the tea plantation and that of the forest. The main building blends into the top of the hill and sits within fields of tea, offering views of the trees and into the forest beyond. The guest rooms nestle into the lower slopes of the hill, below the view of the main hotel, engaging the edge of the indigenous rain forest. Nyungwe has 26 luxury rooms, a tea lounge, fitness centre, forest viewing decks and forest hiking trails.
This marvelous property offers 24 luxury air-conditioned rooms, each equiped with an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony that overlooks the forest. Wild-life sightings are very common, as the Nyungwe National Park is home to 13 different species of primates, including the Mountain Gorilla, the Black and White Colobus monkeys, and the tricky Chimpanzee. Dining at Nyungwe is quite the experience. The bistro is an ideal location to enjoy a quick snack before diving into the outdoor heated pool, or simply relax with a cocktail at the Boma area. The Tea lounge and bar is the perfect spot to unwind after an exciting day of gorilla trekking. The Main Restaurant offers local specialities and international known cuisine options which can be enjoyed in the main dining area, in a private room or on the private terrace.
Activities in and around the lodge include chimpanzee trekking, black and white Colobus monkey trekking, grey – cheeked Mangabey trekking, blue monkey and golden monkey trekking, Kamiranzovu Swamp walks, Kamiranzovu Waterfall walks, various guided walking trails from 1 hour to 7 hours long, extensive bird watching walks, and cultural area walk with lodge guide.
