Today you will be met by your guide for an exploration of Cape Town, known affectionately as the Mother City. Your tour will take in the Houses of Parliament, the Castle (built between 1666 and 1679, this is South Africa’s oldest building), lively Greenmarket Square with its daily market, the Company Gardens and of course Table Mountain which will give you spectacular views over the city and Peninsula (cable car fee is not included as it is weather dependent). On our descent, we stop at the Bo Kaap, home to the Cape Malay community, with its cobbled streets and brightly coloured houses.

Today we embark on a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula. We take in the beaches of Clifton and Camps Bay, before crossing over to Hout Bay, where you may choose to join an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. From here we drive to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve via Chapman’s Peak, one of the world’s most breathtaking coastal drives, where you will board a funicular to the top of the Peninsula to witness the symbolic meeting of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans as well as have spectacular views over False Bay. We enjoy lunch near here (not included – own account) before continuing to Simonstown, the naval base, and visiting the African Penguin breeding colony at Boulders Beach. En route back we stop at the world renowned Kirstenbosch Gardens before returning back to your hotel.

Take a flight from Cape Town to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport today. The flight duration is approximately 1.5 hrs.

This afternoon you'll meet up with others at the lodge and embark on your afternoon game drive. Sunrise and sunset are when the animals are most active. You'll be out in the reserve for a few hours before returning back to the lodge to freshen up for dinner. A private vehicle can be booked at an additional cost dependant on availability.

Embark after lunch on a 4 hour game drive with other travellers. These drives normally carry 6 to 8 passengers and are in open Land Rover type vehicles. The driver is an experienced guide who will make the drive more interesting. A tracker sits in front and follows the animals, often off road to secure sightings which are often really close and clear. As the sun sets, you just might spot some of the nocturnal animals as they awake for their night time feeding.

Early this morning at the crack of dawn after morning coffee, head out for another exciting game drive for about four hours. Possible wildlife which may be seen on your safari may include lion, elephant, buffalo, white rhino, leopard, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, kudu, waterbuck, grey duiker, warthog, vervet monkey, chacma baboon, slender mongoose, tree squirrel - which are all fairly common.

After lunch you may wish to stay at camp and siesta instead of continuing on with the game viewing drive into the afternoon. Although the heat minimises bird and animal movement it is always worth going on a game viewing drive after lunch. Sometimes it's nice to park up at a waterhole and wait patiently to see what animals come to drink. You never know what you might see! Late afternoon is another productive time for game viewing as the day starts to cool down ensuring further wildlife movement.

A host of exciting activities are available both at the lodge and in nearby Livingstone Town. The following activities are included during your stay, but may be subject to seasonal variations: Tour of Victoria Falls (choice of Zambian or Zimbabwe side, passport conditions apply), Sunset cruise, Makoro trips, Nature trail, Cultural Tour of Siankaba village, or visit Mandia School by foot or mountain bike. One trip per stay to either the Zambian or the Zimbabwean side of the Falls per stay – excludes Zimbabwe visa fee. Also included in your stay are all meals, local brand drinks, scheduled lodge activities, and laundry.

Other activities that are available at extra cost and are subject to availability and seasonal variations. The expert guides always on hand at Stanley's camp, will share a wealth of wildlife knowledge, take guests deep into the bush in specially modified open 4 x 4 vehicles on morning and afternoon game drives to find the secluded places where elephant families congregate in search of the tastiest fruits and berries. The game viewing opportunities at Stanley's Camp are awe-inspiring.

Following is a list of included activities; please note some activities are weather dependant:

Game Drives:  Game drives are not typical here, as water crossings are part of the adventure, and watching zebra standing belly-deep in water, grazing, is a sight to see. Even giraffe will cross water up to their hocks. During higher water levels, game drives will be combined with motorised boating excursions. Sanctuary Stanley's Camp is set in a private concession which means you can also venture out at night on exciting game drives to see the many nocturnal animals that live here. The evening drive starts after sundowner cocktails, using a spotlight to identify nocturnal creatures including the ones that are easier to catch a glimpse of in the dark, like hyena and leopard. Tiny fireball eyes that seem to levitate through the air and reappear again in different trees are bush babies, just one of several different creatures to be found.

Walking Safaris:  Professional guides at Stanley's Camp will show you the bush on foot. This is a chance to see the Delta from a different perspective, one that is up close and personal with the surrounding environment. Walks allow you to read the news of the night in the smooth sand of the road. Lion, leopard, elephants, genets and even millipedes are all part of the signs, each with their story to tell. A walking safari is about seeing the small five and the various floras in the area.

Mokoro Excursions:  The Okavango Delta is of course flooded for much of the year and when it is, guests can experience serene silence at the gentle pace of a poled mokoro excursion along the narrow channels. Sit back and relax as you glide through lily ponds on local dugout canoes while seeing eye to eye with a buffalo as it laps water from the river, watch crocodiles sunbathe on the banks or cruise past a pod of hippos as they lie in a pool. Fish eagles, frogs and fabulous lilies form much of this experience, but more frequently it is the quietness and gentle pace that makes its impression.

The Okavango Delta is home to some of the most spectacular and varied wildlife on Earth. Famed for its big cat and bird population, the delta is a peaceful haven where animals have been protected for decades and know they will not be disturbed. You'll have the opportunity to see animals up close when expert guides accompany you on your daily included activities. The area also boasts a diversity of landscape with desert, dry savannah, lagoon and swamps in close proximity – cheetah, crocodile and elephant can frequently be seen.
