Day 5: Kruger

Before first light you'll meet up with other guests at the lodge and embark on your early morning game drive. Enjoy the tranquility of a beautiful sunrise over the unspoiled bush. Many species are still active in the early morning before the heat of the day sets in. With any luck you’ll spot some of the resident predators enjoying the spoils from their hunt the night before. You'll be out in the reserve for a few hours before returning back to the lodge for breakfast.

After lunch you will continue your day with an afternoon game drive. Late afternoon is another productive time for game viewing as the day begins to cool, ensuring further animal movement. Watch as a massive, lumbering hippo emerges from the water to snack on nearby grasses. Observe the predators begin their nightly hunt as grazers peacefully occupy the plains. You’ll be out on the reserve for a few hours before returning to the lodge to refresh before dinner.

After a few hours of early morning game viewing, you will head back to your lodge for breakfast.

Day 9: Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. You'll meet up with others in the lobby of the hotel and start out for your tour. The Victoria Falls constitutes one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world. The Local people call it "Mosi-oa-Tunya" -- the smoke that thunders and the Falls are remarkable. There is a magic about them manifested in the towering column of spray when the river is high, the thunder of the falling water, the terrifying abyss and tranquil lagoons upstream in which hippo and deadly crocodiles lurk. The Victoria falls is 1 708 meters wide, making it the largest curtain of water in the world. It drops between 90m and 107m into the Zambezi Gorge and an average of 550,000 cubic metres of water plummet over the edge every minute. Different times of the year will provide completely different experiences of the Falls region. Peak flood season is around March and April and the full power of the falls can be experienced in all its glory. As the floods abate the view of the falls gets better and better through the year, but at it’s lowest, around November and December the Falls become little rivulets running over the edge and in some places along the 1,7km width no water falls at all. You'll have the afternoon free.

Sign up for optional activities at your hotel (not included in tour price); helicopter, horseback safari, walk with lions, fishing, whitewater rafting, bungee jumping, Chobe game park day trip, jet boat, cultural tours, and more.

  • Julie C. — July 20, 2016 — Africa

I cannot stress enough how perfectly everybody and everything came together to provide us with a world class vacation!! Start to finish, so much more than we expected or anticipated!! We will definitely be contacting again to book another trip!

  • Susan B. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

The Elewana was wonderful - awesome staff & guides, gorgeous setting! All flights and drives were on time & we had no problems at all.

  • Ulises C. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

Our Africa trip was epic! The real test of such an eight country adventure is the logistics at transfer points. FLAWLESS. Thank you to Andrew Drummond and Kensington for guiding us.

  • Jose M. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

Great service from the planning to the selection of options. Roudayna Hanna helped us to design one of the best trips of our life. The tour guides, Tracy in Cape Town and Mathias in Namibia, were excellent and customer-oriented.

  • Cathy C. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

Special thanks to Augustine, our guide. He was beyond our expectations. I recommend that Kensington provides guides with a balloon ride over the Serengeti as a bonus. Thank you to everyone involved in my safari trip; I felt safe and well cared for and will recommend KT to all my friends and family.

  • Douglas H. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

Excellent / easy family trip on very short notice. The team was awesome.

  • Philip M. — July 15, 2016 — Africa

Our guide and driver made this a fantastic trip. We highly recommend them.

  • Alicia H. — June 30, 2016 — Africa

Riad Salam! I cannot say enough good things about our accommodation in Fes! We loved our room with its stunning Moroccan tile work and brass chandeliers and we marveled at the gorgeous interior courtyard while enjoying breakfast each morning and relaxing by the pool each evening. Our guide in Fes, Omar, was magnificent. He knew everyone and negotiated zealously for us with each vendor. Our cooking class at Maison Bleu with Chef Zohar was very fun! We loved following Zohor around the souks, collecting ingredients and she was an excellent teacher in the kitchen. In Marrakech, we had the best time at Kasbah du Toubkal. Our guide was incredibly patient and let us lounge in the mountain sun and air for hours!

  • Patrick P. — June 30, 2016 — Africa

Charlie, our guide, was absolutely the best! We had my wife's mom (74) and dad (75) along, and he helped them thru the rain forest and every obstacle that we encountered. Barry, our guide in the rain forest, spotted so many lemurs and chameleons, and he also helped Charlie with mom and dad. Both were a wealth of information about the animals and the island. We all really enjoyed Lemur Island, where the lemurs would hop on your shoulders. I was amazed how poor the people of Madagascar were, and how poor the roads were; but Charlie navigated thru Tana and the road to the rain forest like a pro. The hotel and lodge we stayed at were first rate, and the service from the staff was excellent! Thanks to all connected to Kensington Tours for putting together such a wonderful trip!
