One Bedroom Suite

The 12 traditional Cape farm cottages have been transformed into lovely guest suites some overlook the vineyards, others the splendid garden, but all have views of the surrounding mountains. The suites each have their own personality and elements of surprise. Some have one bedroom and others have two. The furniture is contemporary, clean and uncluttered yet complements the traditional architecture. The bathrooms are gorgeous. In some entire walls covered with mirrors and in others rain showers dominate. The cottages have been recently built in the traditional Cape Dutch style. Inside, the rooms are mostly white, with a restrained use of designer furniture, and the square, all-glass kitchens attached to the cottages resemble Perspex cubes.

  • DiningDining
Babel Restaurant

Babel is open for lunch Wednesdays to Sundays and for dinner Friday and Saturday evenings. The food leans towards simplicity but with an edge. Meals are creative though always clear in structure. Vegetables and fruit gathered daily from the garden are often served with their skins on. Helpings are generous and meals may be taken either in the glass enclosed restaurant or under the Plain trees in the courtyard, depending on the weather. One of the biggest treats when staying over at Babylonstoren is that you get to begin the day with a Babel breakfast. Fresh fruit and juices straight from nature, homemade mueslis and thick yoghurts, farm honey, and every day a choice of something delicious and hot, maybe Babylonstoren eggs and local Serrano style ham from the Valley.

  • PoolPool
Garden/Spa

After a workout in the gym overlooking the garden, guests can relax at the Garden Spa. The swimming pool is a restored farm reservoir and perfect for hot summer days. Whatever the season, there is always something happening in the garden. Guests are invited to join in the harvesting, pruning, planting or picking of the many fruit, herbs, nuts, spices and vegetables. Walks span over three kilometres in the garden and the gardeners would love to give you a guided tour every day.
