Tucked into the side of a hill, Emily Moon River Lodge overlooks Plettenburg Bay and the Botou River. The hotel is small and intimate, comprising 6 spacious rooms with panoramic views of the river below. Cuisine is prepared with care at the Emily Restaurant. Chefs are recognized throughout the region for their delicious specialties, and can traverse the culinary spectrum from light and casual to exotic gourmet. Relax by the pool, hang out at the bar area and sip a sundowner, or simply bask in the stunning landscape of the region.
This suite has all the luxury and sumptuousness that this special occasion deserves. In amongst beautiful African and Indian artifacts a large black, soft leather sofa dominates from where one looks out onto a big expanse of the winding Bitou River and many water birds. The sunrise from this lodge can be spectacular.
Each spacious, completely private lodge, is furnished in African contemporary style and is designed for two adults, except for one which has a downstairs and sleeps two children over the age of 8. All have wooden decks with breath taking views and all the mod cons such as under floor heating, mini bars and satellite TV. There are ceiling fans, plantation blinds, big fireplaces and the three newest units have hot and cold water outdoor showers.
We have a stunning new restaurant in the name of EMILY'S which exudes the essence, spirit and feel of Africa with beautiful collectors pieces in every nook and cranny. Larry our chef extraordinaire produces an eclectic menu for candlelit dinners and fun lunches around the pool area when relaxing, having a cocktail and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. There is a vibey little bar and sundowner deck where a great buzz happens prior to dinner and a large log fireplace is lit for after dinner Irishes or just a cosy little chat. Relax at our beautiful pool and enjoy the surroundings.
We are close to the superb beaches, shops, golf courses and other restaurants and conveniently positioned for covering a large area of the Garden Route . Our position has a unique outlook over the Bitou Valley and Wetland with the winding Bitou River running through it. There is abundant wild bird life with flocks of geese and ducks, water birds of all sizes and descriptions, riverine bush that attracts many species of birds, and the brightly coloured sun birds that come in large numbers to feast on the nectar from flowers in the garden. The Emily Moon staff will gladly assist in organising any of the activities in and around Plettenberg Bay.
