The reception areas of the hotel comprise various sitting and meeting areas, the hotel’s award winning restaurant with its own double volume, glass fronted wine cellar as well as function and conference facilities.The philosophy behind the design is to create a luxurious contemporary boutique hotel in Africa. Warm neutral wall colours, enhanced by the vibrant natural cotton hues of the custom designed furniture in warm fabrics and indigenous wood, provide a peaceful and harmonious environment for meetings or relaxing. Outdoor terraces, garden and lap pool allow guests to make the most of the beautiful South African climate, whilst in the heart of the business area. The chic bar area is an ideal place to entertain business guests or relax before dinner.
Each suite was to have a separate lounge and bedroom, a fireplace, guest toilet, steam bath and plenty of natural light, with access to the outdoors via a ground floor patio or a balcony. Each suite is equipped with complimentary bar, high speed internet, satellite television and a compact disc sound system. This formed the basis of Christoff's brief to the designers. Every suite represents each designer's journey through their interpretation of the brief - essentially the way ten interior designers would like to be "Home from home in Africa".
The Ten Bompas Restaurant, features fresh, innovative cuisine with some of the herbs sourced from the hotel’s gardens. The staff are busy planting vegetable gardens in the Ten Bompas grounds with the hope that we can enhance the dishes with freshly plucked vegetables. Seating up to fifty people, the restaurant is open to outside diners as well as hotel guests. Ten Bompas boasts an excellent wine collection, stored in ideal conditions in an environmentally-controlled wine cellar. Order from your waiter, or browse the wine cellar for your favourite wine. The double volume state of the art wine cellar is home to some 4500 local and foreign vintages.
Ten Bompas Hotel is situated in Bompas Road, Dunkeld West, just off Jan Smuts Avenue in close proximity of the British Consulate General. Located in the heart of South Africa's premier business area, Ten Bompas is minutes away from Sandton, Randburg, Hyde Park, Rosebank, and lllovo, and a short drive from Midrand, Pretoria and Johannesburg. Johannesburg International Airport is approximately 30 minutes by car.
