nThambo Tree Camp is an eco-friendly camp that provides a true personal safari experience. Our camp has five chalets that sleeps two people, which creates an intimate and personal safari experience. There is an outdoor lounge and dining area covered by a thatch, that offers guests beautiful views of the plains and a small waterhole in front of camp. There is also a boma area with camp fire, perfect for warming you up with your coffee before the morning walk, or for enjoying evening drinks around the fire. In addition guests will experience a traditional South African braaivleis cooked over the open fire.
nThambo Tree Camp is located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, which shares an unfenced border with the Kruger National Park which in turn enhances the overall wildlife experience.
nThambo Tree Camp has five “treehouse” solar-powered chalets that sleep two guests each. The camp can therefore accommodate a maximum of ten guests, ensuring a personal and private safari experience. The chalets are raised on wooden stilts, the floor is wooden decking, the walls are canvas tent, with a thatched roof completing one of the most unique safari accommodation options in the Kruger. In addition, each chalet has a verandah which overlooks the plain in front of camp with views of the Drakensberg mountain range in the distance.
The dining room has a large table where, as per safari tradition, everyone dines together to enjoy each other’s company and share stories of the day’s game sightings. In addition guests will experience a traditional South African braaivleis cooked over the open fire.
A safari at nThambo Tree Camp includes guided game drives through a wildlife area rich in game and part of the huge wilderness area that is the Greater Kruger. In addition to morning and afternoon/evening game drives, bushwalks are offered after breakfast.
