The Thornybush Waterside Lodge is located adjacent to the Greater Kruger National Park and set on the banks of a tranquil lake encompassed with breath-taking views of the African bushveld. The lodges 20 comfortably appointed air-conditioned Thatched Suites blend into the natural habitat and are located along pathways surrounded by an abundance of trees and manicured gardens. En-suite air-conditioned accommodation is tastefully decorated by crisp white bedding. Accommodation caters for a maximum of 40 people collectively. Highly skilled rangers and trackers ensure Big 5 game viewing opportunities during dawn and dusk safaris, whilst bushwalks are for the more adventurous. Guests are invited to relax and take in the African surrounds after breakfast on the main deck area overlooking the lake, the swimming pool or alternatively retreat to the comfort of their suite.
The 20 thatched cottages blend into the natural surrounds and are linked by a walkway. The cottages are spacious, comfortably appointed and tastefully decorated in soft muted hues. There are two inter-leading cottages available for families travelling with children. Cottages are en-suite with indoor shower and separate bath, crisp white linen, air-conditioning, tea and coffee facilities and a mini bar. The bedroom opens out onto a small deck area overlooking the natural bushveld.
Guests can enjoy a sumptuous Breakfast served either at the back of the camp or in the riverbed or bush. In the evening guests can enjoy a gourmet 3 course dinner, either in the boma, bush or lodge amongsts the guests where all can socialise with a cognac, single malt or cigar around the campfire or lounge before heading to bed.
The lodge also features a pool, a library with internet access, a Boma (fire-pit), and a curio shop. Twice daily game drives are offered at Waterside Lodge in the early morning and late afternoon, and guided bush walks are available after breakfast.
