Chada Katavi is in one of the best safari locations in Tanzania in Katavi National Park. The camp includes six spacious East African safari tents with wide-open fronts giving you panoramic views of the plain and animal life that constantly comes and goes. Elephant are frequent visitors, attracted to the shady fruit around the camp, and vast herds of buffalo graze on the flood plain. You'll find the dining tent and library are comfortable little spaces to relax in when you're not out in the midst of a safari adventure. Activities include game drives in open 4WD vehicles, fly camping, outstanding birding, viewing of big game and walking safaris.
Chada Katavi is stylish and wonderfully comfortable, but all the resources at Chada Katavi are shared with the local animals, therefore we all must ensure that our footprint remains light. Water is a valuable resource at the camp, especially during the dryer months, and it is shared with many other animals. The camp takes this very seriously, and "bucket showers" help to conserve the water.
Chada Katavi has 6 traditional, double, safari tents on wooden platforms with spectacular views, complete privacy, and large, comfortable beds. A large private bathroom is set behind each tent with eco-flush toilets and bucket showers, hot and cold water available on demand. During down time, simply stop by the large mess tent or the separate library tent for a good read. Fireplace & dining under the stars is a highly rated activity at Chada Katavi.
