Kambi ya Tembo, which faces the snow-capped peak of the Kilimanjaro offers traditional tented accommodation in 20 tents with en suite facilities. It combines luxury and warm African hospitality with the best culture and nature experience.
Sinya, a private concession of about 600 square km, bordering Kenya at Amboseli National Park, offers spectacular landscapes with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro, Mount Meru, Ol Doinyo Longido and Ol Doinyo Orok. A unique nature and cultural experience. One of the few areas in Africa where huge Elephant Bulls, more than 50 years old, carrying tusks of considerable size, are regularly seen. These bulls, some of them living permanently in the zone, together with herds of mothers and calves use to migrate between the swamps of Amboseli National Park and the Acacia woodlands of the other side of the border in search of water and food. Most of them have been monitored by Cynthia Moss in Amboseli for more than 25 years and form one of the healthiest and most balanced Elephant populations of the whole African Continent.
Kambi ya Tembo, which faces Kilimanjaro has 10 tents with thatched roofs and en suite facilities with hot and cold water, twin or double beds, mosquito nettings, solar powered lights. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with built in showers and a private veranda. Some of the tents overlook Amboseli plains and others Kilimanjaro National Park .
There is an indoor and outdoor restaurant on-site.
Activities include game drives in open vehicles; night game drives to see the nocturnal animals and walking safaris escorted by Maasai warriors. Cultural interaction with the local Maasai, visiting bomas, the market, the village school or when available, the participation in traditional ceremonies that will make a visit to Sinya the most unforgettable experience of a lifetime.
