Migunga Forest Camp

Nestled in a quiet corner on the northwest of the lake, Migunga Tented Camp is only 5 minutes from the entrance of Lake Manyara National Park, which spreads out across the Great East African Rift Valley, dominating a vast landscape. Often called Tanzania's water wonderland due to the large number of birds and animals the lake supports, Lake Manyara is also famous for its' tree-climbing lions. Nestled away in a quiet corner of 35 acres of acacia forest, Migunga consists of 19 semi-luxury permanent tents on raised platforms with attached bathrooms and private veranda with a main house offering a restaurant, bar, and reading area. Relax in this quiet, rustic sanctuary minutes from the Ngorongoro Crater.

    Standard Tent

    Each of the 19 semi-luxury permanent tents feature a private veranda and en-suite bathroom. All the tents are discreetly placed around a central glade, offering shade and privacy but still only a short walk to the restaurant and bar. Relax and chat by the campfire and fall asleep, cosy under your mosquito net.

        The follow activities can be arranged with the lodge for an additional price. Night game drives in an open vehicle provide the opportunity to see nocturnal creatures such as porcupines, bush babies, bush buck, hippos, mongoose, civets and nocturnal birds. You may even see the ellusive 'tree climbing lions'!! You could also experience Lake Manyara from the air! "Once in a lifetime" experience of viewing the Great Rift Valley and Lake Manyara from 1,500 feet in the air. There is a selection of different flight lengths available from 20 minutes to an hour. Mountain biking, bird walks, and culture tours are also available.
