Vuma Hills Tented Camp

Vuma Hills Tented Camp is situated in Mikumi National Park between the Uluguru Mountains to the north east, the Udzungwa Mountains, Rubeho Mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the south west. The Camp features custom designed tents situated on raised wooden platforms overlooking the floodplain below, providing guests with striking views. Mikumi National Park boasts the highest game density in the entire conservation area. The camp is accessible by tarmac road which takes about 4 hours from Dar es Salaam, or by scheduled flights from Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.  The colonial-style tents are spacious and comfortable, each boasting a shaded wooden veranda and en-suite bathroom. Each tents is fitted with double and single beds with mosquito nets. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin and toilet and all the water is heated by solar power.

    Tent 1-4 Nights

    Each of the spacious and comfortable tent offer a rather old fashioned colonial décor suitable to its dynamic location. Sleeping under canvas at Vuma is a far cry from the discomfort usually associated with camping. These tents boast a shaded wooden veranda at the front and en suite bathroom facilities at the back. Each tent has a double and a single bed, mosquito proofing, electricity provided via generator, and solar-heated water.

        Tent 5-8 Nights

        Each of the spacious and comfortable tent offer a rather old fashioned colonial décor suitable to its dynamic location.             The dining room overlooks the swimming pool creating an oasis of tranquillity in the dusty hot climate of the lowlands in which to savour the varied and well-prepared meals cooked with pride by the camp chefs. Food is prepared from fresh produce from a local Highland farm. Full English breakfast or continental breakfast, fresh fruit, tea and coffee. Lunch is a cold buffet with a selection of seasonal salads and meat dishes, followed by a dessert. Dinner is a starter, a choice of two main courses, followed by dessert and coffee/tea.
